Syracuse Station serves as the headquarters of Cryer Pharmaceuticals. The continued success of their station-based laboratories in Sigma-17 and Cambridge, along with the steadily increasing cost of operations on Denver, motivated Cryer to construct a new orbital headquarters in New York. In addition to housing Cryer's executives and many other high-level personnel, Syracuse serves as an additional production facility for Cryer's pharmaceuticals, which have been in high demand as Sirius recovers from the Gallic invasion.
Security aboard Syracuse is taken very seriously. While the publicly-accessible areas maintain a customer-friendly air, those who stray from their allowed areas are quickly dealt with by station security. Cryer maintains that these measures are necessary for the protection of their staff and executives, citing the regular raids on Pueblo and Detroit as evidence.
