Liberty Gunboats, codenamed 'Defiant', were built in mass numbers for several centuries. However - in the recent decades - the Liberty Navy cut down its production in favor of more powerful Cruisers, such as the Liberty Siege Cruiser, as well as the Liberty Assault Battlecruiser. Heavily armed, yet more maneuverable fighters, such as the Avenger class filled the gap such cruisers may lack in support.
Handling
- This ship is too large to use docking bays, it must use mooring points.

An ingenious design allows it to easily dodge attacks coming from the front and the back. It's much more vulnerable from the sides. A heavy power array and reinforced armor plating allows it to starve its opponents into nothing. Error creating thumbnail: Unable to save thumbnail to destination Review by Omni-Cannon |

The Liberty Gunboat is a powerful yet agile piece of machinery. The power core is moderate, but with the gunboat-style recharge of ten seconds to full from zero, the 500,000 unit energy isn't a downside. The hull damage the ship can take is above average, being in the top ten hull ratings of all gunboats in the mod. The ship also handles quite well for a heavy gunboat. Five out of seven turrets fire forwards, with one one each side of the nose, one on each side of the short wingspan, and a single one on the bottom of the nose. Two more turrets fire to the rear and sideways in an arc somewhat over 180 degrees, which are best suited for either primaries or, with a skilled pilot, a missile and a primary. The forward turrets can be used well with either missiles, primaries, razors, or pulses, with an optimal tri-razor setup on the three nose-mounted hardpoints and two pulses on the wing hardpoints. Two missiles and three primaries are effective against fighters and small bombers, but large bombers like the Barghest and Fafnir take more effort to down, even if the gunboat pilot is skilled. The forward gun takes some skill to aim, and is best done in first-person view by aiming slightly above the middle of the screen before firing. If your ship is equipped for anti-fighter work, but there's that one Outcast Tridente you need to help your buddies with, the forward gun packs a punch large enough to do a good bit of damage. The forward gun definitely makes up for the fact that only five turrets fire forwards. The ship is also aesthetically pleasing. The design looks nice and the texture is easy on the eyes. It's a great model that fits in with the style of the Cruiser and Dreadnought.Error creating thumbnail: Unable to save thumbnail to destination Review by Kazinsal |

The liberty gunboat is one of the finest gunboats I've ever flown. It's strong hull, forward gun, and ok powercore make it a beast if flown correctly. A pair of them, well flown of course, is very difficult to beat, if not impossible. Error creating thumbnail: Unable to save thumbnail to destination Review by Geeky |

The Type-23 Liberty Gunship is more of a mobile weapons plateform than it is of a gunship. The T-23 is one of the better gunships in the Liberty area, but unless you have a load of credits to spent, then your in pretty hot water. The forward cannon can be replaced with another class 7 weapon, like a fighter gun or class 7 missile launcher if you dont like the main gun. However, it is advised to keep this gun and try your skills with cannon. The gunship is a bit slower to get it turned around. If you flew a transport like a train, then you'll probly be used to the handling already. These type of ships are costly to maintain, if you are using missile launchers that requires ammo to use up or for NB/SB and other repairs. Technically, the gunboat can be used to for more than spacing some pirate into the vaccum of space. If you are wanting to have a Gunship, note that you will have to ask about owning a gunship from the faction and also should check which ships are allowed in most systems to avoid confrontation with local law-enforcement/outlaws. With 5 of the 7 turrets able to fire at targets infront, with the right weapons, can be a agent of chaos. From the rear, however, the gunship tends to become vulnerable and you may require assistance. If your a beginner, start with fighting light fighters and work your way up. This gunship, though its not the best in Sirius, it is the best in Liberty. Error creating thumbnail: Unable to save thumbnail to destination Review by Regious Tuk'Cone |

This is perfect GB. Get full basic/liberty turrets and 1 EMP missile in slot 7(located at bottom) to kill shields. Lib GB has rather good hull, medium core, quite fast. It has 5 slots firing forward, 3 and more backward (depends on angle), and 2 downwards. But, because you are fast you need to turn sides to enemy, because you have 5 slots firing here and excellent turn speed!
