Introduction

The Eclipse Syndicate is a quasi-legal smuggling company. Its main difference from others smugglers is that it operates Sirus-wide, and is not affiliated with one specific criminal group. On the contrary, its goal is to make contracts within all four Houses, plus border and edge worlds. In exchange for its both economic assistance and military support against Corsairs and corsair-affiliated, the Eclipse asks to different groups like the Mollys and the Red Hessians tax free passage through their territories and use of their products. Therefore, the Syndicate is loosely divided between Smuggling and Fighting activities. It has nothing to do with piracy. The main distinctiveness of the Eclipse is that it deals with many separatist or revolutionary movements, thus the motto “Profit for a Cause”. The Eclipse considers itself as a money maker, yes, but also as a provider for different causes it feels needs support.

Like many other smuggling companies, the Eclipse constantly tries to stay neutral with all Sirius Houses (They don't operate in Gallia for the moment). But contrary to most of them, this neutrality very much depends on the effectiveness of Eclipse’s lawful front company, Francesca Shipping and Security, the visible part of the iceberg. As long as F.S shows an honest and transparent face, the Eclipse should be able to operate quite peacefully in its shadow. If governments are focused on Francesca Shipping, it’s more likely they won’t see the covert operation going on underground. Through F.S, the Eclipse should be able to lawfully “bribe” authorities (gifts to the police and military pension, faked friendship, co-event etc). Even if the front operation is profitable, it remains a shell for the true covert smuggling operation.

The Eclipse can smuggle virtually anything anywhere (except Corsair space). For example, bring weapons and fuel to its allies, then buy from them blood diamonds or cardamine and enter House space. As for the front Francesca Shipping, it operates in Bretonia, Liberty ZOIs and border worlds.
