Synopsis
AP Manufacturing is a ship and weapons research and manufacturing company based within Omicron Rho. The company itself functions out of Alabama Shipyard, under the protection of their private military company known as The Core.
The Alabama Shipyard is administered by AP Manufacturing, a diversified heavy industrial company specializing in shipbuilding, ship breaking, station construction, modular construction, civil and military engineering, renewable and project management. AP Manufacturing research, develop, construct and deconstruct the ships and equipment found within the AP line.
They export AP-Line ships to the Bounty Hunters Guild who are avid buyers and users of this technology. The Bounty Hunters Guild then proceeds to use this technology within House Space and the Borderworlds against hostile criminal elements. The Bounty Hunters Guild advertises their technology, where in turn other factions may end up wanting to make a purchase from APMs superb ship line. This can include house lawfuls, corporations or even the odd Freelancer
As well as the ships above, AP Manufacturing also produces powerful Capital ships for mostly exclusive use by The Core. The Core utilizes these in their conquest to fulfill their contracts within the Omicrons and the Edgeworlds. It is extremely rare to see AP Capital ships within the hands of anything but The Core.
AP Manufacturing also closely studies Iridium within Omicron Delta - extracting it and probing it for any other uses which could prove economically beneficial to The Core, as well as any other uses which it may find elsewhere in Sirius. They closely guard the mining and exportation of Iridium, not wanting any other faction in the Omicrons to benefit from it.
AP Manufacturing also gathers supplies and other commodities to assist The Core in their conquest of the Edgeworlds.
Logistics
AP Manufacturing imports commodities to Core bases that are either for ship building purposes or research purposes. Otherwise, they trade around Sirius to both show their presence and source funds for themselves and The Core.
Mining
AP Manufacturing has a keen interest in the Iridium Fields in Omicron Delta. Since their venture into the Edgeworlds, they have been carefully researching and monitoring Iridium and looking for the best means to extract it. They fiercely control the mining of this commodity, not letting anyone else harvest their resource from their fields.
Empire Of Omicronia
AP Manufacturing controls, maintains, develops and leads the Empire of Omicronia. They hold all the governmental positions and have power over the laws.
Research
Unbeknownst to the rest of Sirius AP Manufacturing conducts experiments and research, often of the unethical and immoral variety, in Alabama Shipyard. One of the key reasons why AP Manufacturing left for the Edgeworlds was to get out of the eyes of house laws, where they could conduct their experiments undisturbed. Human Augmentation
Test subjects, often in the forms of captured enemy pilots, criminals or slaves, make fine candidates for human augmentation. Test subjects are often put through a grueling and painful process (which they're unlikely to survive) where their bodies will be augmented with machinery (such as Artificial Intelligence technology) or alien technology for the sake of creating super soldiers and other ultimate beings. Other experiments with human augmentation also include attempts to mimic the telepathy ability expressed in Nomads.
Human Cloning
AP Manufacturing conducts research into human cloning, for the sake of creating an expendable yet infinite source of pilots for their Edgeworlds operations, and for other shadier corporations who may need highly obedient and highly expendable security.
Advanced Ship and Weapon technology
Technology found within the Edgeworlds is used to boost the efficiency of AP Manufacturing's ship design.
There are many other experiments that AP Manufacturing conducts, however those are far more secretive. Who knows what twisted science may be going on in Omicron Rho?
