Initially stationed in the Orkney system, the La Riche was tasked with securing supply shipments heading to the Bretonian front via the Languedoc Jumphole. After the construction of the Tau 23 Gate and the diverting of all supply traffic through the much safer route, the Battleship maintained its position until being reposted to the Edinburgh system as a replacement for the advancing Castres in 824 AS.
The La Riche’s main duties are to protect the flank of the attacking fleets and securing supply lines going to and from Orkney system. Its current position in the orbit of Planet Gaia has led some to believe that the Royal Navy is beginning to change its stance regarding the planet's strategic, scientific and military value.
