Fourchambault was built in 591 AGS, initially as a small ship building facility. Fourchambault was expanded several times during the Second Gallic War, winding up to become one of the largest shipyards in the entirety of Gallia. It was quintessential in providing the Royal navy with the considerable numerical and qualitative advantage it needed to breach into Sirius, although at a significant cost to its workers as the place was perpetually overcrowded and operating well past its initial intended capacity.
Currently, it has two standard berths, one extra large berth, and four independent strikecraft manufacturing facilities. As such, this shipyard is equipped to service ships of any size, from humble mining craft to the mighty Valor battleship. However, for the first time since its construction, Fourchambault no longer has to pave the way or fuel an immense, sector-shattering offensive. This will have obvious repercussions on its operations, namely its order backlog.
Still, Fourchambault stands as the only shipyard in Minarchy territory and is, historically, one of the few reliable and well-paying job purveyors in the entirety of Southern Gallia. The Minarchy syndicates are likely to act accordingly and are expected to take as large a part in reconstruction efforts as possible.
