The Old Guard is the last remenants of the Former Republic, carrying on the traditions of such.
History
Following the demolition of the Molly Republic, many formerly respected and honored Mollys left Republic space, or simply strove out on their own, seperate from the Council.
With the signing of the Armistice, these former soldiers were outraged, and vowed to never allow Breen's dream of a truly free Dublin die.
For months they fought on, alone and disorganized, taking measures even more extreme than those of the Seperatists, until Eichann Rush, a ex-patriate, returned to see his beloved Republic in ruins.
He took up the call, and gathered around him the like-minded who took great pleasure in the death of every Baffer, and rejected this ridiculous "tax".

The Old Guard cares not for borders, and will pursue any and all strategies that lead to a Free Dublin.
Ships used
The Old Guard were already well-equipped from their service to the Republic, and their ships carried over. Whenever a new procurement is neccessary, the Republic's agreement with the Rogues and the vast space available at Foyle Shipyard allow for almost immediate access to any ship of the Z-line.
Weaponry
To quote a well known Molly:
"We have our own weapons line and it has served us fine for generations. We do not need fancy guns to win freedom, only strong will and quick wit! For lack of better suited weapons, feel free to use the Supernova, Mini razor and VIII armor plating, same goes for Transport and gunboat and transport turrets, missile launchers, mines and shields."
The Republic's vessels used much of it's own equipment throughout it's history, usually for the sake of maintainance, and the Old Guard has seen no reason to change this.
Ranks
The Molly Republic had only two ranks, and the Old Guard carries on this tradition, as knowledge, wisdom and skill take priority over simple ranks and those that have come before were given due respect.
Councilor
The man responsible for keeping alive the dream of a Free Dublin, Eichann Rush.
Molly
Several old Republicans have formed up with the Old Guard, and hope for a better day.
