Description
A group of old Republicans who have totally and irrevocably rejected any form of peace with Bretonia, chosing to band together to continue the fight against all enemies using all methods available.
In addition to their already fanatic devotion to the ideals of the Old Republic, the influence of the sociopathic and insane Eichann Rush has introduced religious zeal into their purpose, transforming their goal into the Cause, and their fight against tryanny into a Holy Crusade against Evil.
History
Following the demolition of the Molly Republic, many formerly respected and honored Mollys left Republic space, or simply strove out on their own, seperate from the Council.
With the signing of the Armistice, these former soldiers were outraged, and vowed to never allow the dream of a truly free Dublin die.
For months they fought on, alone and disorganized, taking measures even more extreme than those of the Seperatists, until Eichann Rush, an ex-patriate, returned to see his beloved Republic in ruins.
He took up the call, and gathered around him the like-minded who took great pleasure in the death of every baffer, and rejected this ridiculous "tax" system.
Code of Conduct
Before joining our ranks all Mollys must swear to abide inner rules and follow set virtues.
Such rules holds members closer, keeps order between Knights of Old Guard as well as sets the path to the primary goal.
Guidelines
Each pilot must follow these or risk being expelled from the Old Guard.
- To serve the Cause in valour and faith
- To fight for the welfare of Republic
- To obey those placed in authority
- To guard the honour of fellow knights
- To keep faith at all times
Virtues
Each pilot must employ the following virtues to become best at what he does.
- Poverty. All the needs of our Knights are provided for out of common coffers, and all the gold we take in is shared.
- Courage. We must be brave as our way to independence is hard and long. We must strike each time we get opportunity.
- Faith. We cannot be crippled if we fail. We can lose one fight, but the war goes on.
- Mercy. We are not murderers. Give everyone a chance to save their lives.
- Honor. We do not strike at the innocent, however, the simple act of trading with the Crown makes you an accomplice to their deeds of infamy and tyranny.
- Knowledge. Know your enemy, their technology, crafts and tactics. Know their strengths and weaknesses. Know your surroundings. Use all this to your advantage.
- Friendship. Hail your allies and friends. They are valuable to our Cause.
Zone of Influence
The Old Guard cares not for borders, and will pursue any and all strategies that lead to a Free Dublin, however, its main presence is in the following systems.
Ships used
The Old Guard were already well-equipped from their service to the Republic, and their ships carried over. Whenever a new procurement is neccessary, the Republic's agreement with the Rogues and the vast space available at Foyle Shipyard allow for almost immediate access to any ship of the Z-line.
Each pilot must have Greyhound or Werewolf and Barghest for any situation needed.
Weaponry
To quote a well known Molly:
"We have our own weapons line and it has served us fine for generations. We do not need fancy guns to win freedom, only strong will and quick wit! For lack of better suited weapons, feel free to use the Supernova, Mini razor and VIII armor plating, same goes for Transport and gunboat and transport turrets, missile launchers, mines and shields."
The Republic's vessels used much of it's own equipment throughout it's history, usually for the sake of maintainance, and the Old Guard has seen no reason to change this.
