| description = Languedoc is a system in the Gallic Border Worlds that harbors one of the two connections into Sirius. For centuries it was heavily patrolled by the Gallic Royal Navy, but during the Second Gallic War it was conquered by a Council sneak-attack. Within a year, Council had opened a path through the minefield and used the resources in Languedoc to construct Reunion Station and contact the rest of Sirius, breaking Gallic isolation.
+
| description = Omega-3 is a border world system located right next to Cambridge. This system is patrolled by the Bretonian Armed Forces, and occassional patrols from the Red Hessians and Corsairs can be sighted as well. Four bases have been established in this system, with one of them being a Zoner Freeport. The Freeport, Aland Shipyard and the jump gates to Cambridge and Omega-7 are connected by tradelanes.

Languedoc is one of the two systems primarily controlled by Council, and produces a large portion of the resources to fuel Council's war effort. However, the Gallic Royal Navy is amassing a colossal armada in the Dauphine system and plans to take back Languedoc within the year- a move that would force Council to seek refuge in the Tau-systems and allow the Gallic Monarchy to begin the invasion of Sirius.

: Ales is a lifeless and unhospitable world devoid of water and oxygene. GMS surveys have shown presence of significant copper deposits planetside, but no efforts were taken to exploit them so far.

: A very large comet, possibly a rogue planetoid, caught in the gravitational well of the Omega 3 star. Initial scans have revealed immense quantities of Cobalt locked under it's icy crust. Due to it's proximity to the star, the comet cannot be mined directly, but the star is slowly eroding the comet. The comet's tail contains small quantities, easily retrievable Cobalt.

: A mining colony was established on Quillan in 699 A.S., when easily accessible deposits of copper and other metal ores were found on the planet's surface. For a long time, the Gallic Metal Service was administering the colony with the help of Gallic Police and smaller shipment companies from Gallia. Despite rising pirate acitivity in Languedoc, Quillan mining operations proved to be profitable, and resource extraction on the planet was rising until the beginning of the Second Gallic War.

: In the end of 815 A.S., a large Council fleet has breached through Quillan's orbital defenses. The Council armed forces landed on the planet in attempt to gain control of the mining operations. Gallic Army regiments stationed on planet's surface resisted the invaders, but after many months of fierce fighting the Council troops gained the upper hand. The victory was ensured by both numerical superiority of the Council and by the support of local miners who were inspired by the success of Marne rebellion.

Due to dangers and high costs, lower levels of Cerbere atmosphere remain unaccessible for Gallic scientists to study.

Freeport 1
 +
: Freeport 1 was built in 738 A.S., by a group of vagrants, wanderers and social outcasts that had left territories of the Houses in order to live beyond the rules and regulations enforced in the core systems. It was the first ever Freeport to be constructed, as the name clearly states, and it quickly gained popularity with the criminals, outlaws and others of a dubious disposition as a place to easily obtain supplies and repair their ships. Most of the criminals who visit Freeport 1 tend to be members of the Mollys or the Corsairs, although the occasional Red Hessian and Gaian are seen onboard.
 +
 +
: Over time, however, Freeport 1 has grown, with new cargo modules and habitation decks being constructed until the Freeport was barely recognisable from the small platform it started out as. Small ships are known to be constructed here, sold to both freelancers, criminals and other zoners, and although Bretonia has made irritated noises towards the Freeport, they have as yet left it alone, preferring to put up with the annoyance of criminals docking there to the unknown consequences that might otherwise occur by antagonising the largely peaceful Zoner society.

: A large station within Wilkes Ice Field, Aland was built in 810-817 A.S. by the Independent Miners Guild. Guild used unoccupied space between two trade lanes to construct their first shipyard capable of building and maintaining large vessels. Additionally, the building site attracted a number of refugees from Holman, South Shields and Hood who were seeking for jobs and safer places to stay. Now, Aland Shipyard has become home for over a thousand Independent Miners who came here from Bretonia and Omega Border Worlds.

: Nimes is the second largest settlement (after Planet Quillan) in Languedoc, a system located on the very edge of the Gallic space. For nearly 15 years, it was one of the few places controlled by the lawful Gallic forces after Languedoc system was overrun by the Council. However, in 814 A.S. it was quietly penetrated by Council special forces with the help of loyal civilians. In a few hours, all Police and Navy defenders were neutralized, and the Council reported about the most bloodless victory in the history of Second Gallic War. Since then, Nimes has become the center of Council administration for Languedoc and Dauphine.

: Montpellier is a defensive installation built by the Navy over two hundred years ago to secure the mines that hide the pass into the Orkney system. In 817 A.S. it was heavily damaged by a suicide attack of a Council battleship that carried thermonuclear explosives. Most of the station, however, survived, and after breaching the mine field Montpellier was rebuilt, repressured, and assigned to a new task: defend the newly discovered path to other Houses from any attempts of the Gallic Royal Navy to retake the path and threaten the newly established Reunion Station.

While hydrocarbons naturally occur in a gaseous state almost everywhere in the known universe, frozen deposits present the most easily exploited form of the substance. Hydrocarbon mining is key to the industrialization of the Sirius Sector as it provides the raw materials for the creation of the Ship Hull Panels and Optronics, upon which modern society depends.

Established more than two hundred years ago and providing shelter for pirate patrols from nearby Dauphine and even from Burgundy, the Narbonne Base started operating long before the system of Gallic Trade Lanes and Jump Gates reached Languedoc. During the Second Gallic War, the base had served as an important transition point for the Council and Maquis fighters heading to attack Gallic Navy forces near Nimes and Remoulins.

: Maquis have established a base of operations in Languedoc in 691 A.S., in the times when they were still part of The Council, and long before the system was taken under control of their former home faction. Maquis of Languedoc are known to be very loyal to the Council, and even dispatched ships to fight with Gallic Navy on Council's side when battles for Languedoc took place. In exchange, Council supports Limoux both financially and technically, repairing their ships and providing new ones. Using the help they receive, Maquis send raiding parties as far as Dauphine and Burgundy, plundering civilian convoys, and attacking Navy patrols.

: Battleship Montmorency was deployed to the Lanquedoc system to cover the rear of the Gallic Royal Navy's advance from Gallia into Orkney and the Tau systems. The Royal Navy views Lanquedoc as largely pacified after the retreat of the Council from the system. The battleship conducts patrols of the system's trade lanes, inspects ships attempting to enter Dauphine, and often conducts live fire drills to remind anyone watching that the Royal Navy is present in force.

: The rapid industrialization that followed the settlement of the Sirius Sector has resulted in large fields of Scrap Metal, the detritus resulting from extensive manufacturing and mining operations. These debris fields present both a navigational hazard and a potential second-stage resource, so a small cottage industry has sprung up among those who collect scrap metal and resell it at smelting plants.

Omega-3 is a border world system located right next to Cambridge.

Nebulae & Asteroids

Cross-Vandermeer Comet

Cross-Vandermeer Comet
A very large comet, possibly a rogue planetoid, caught in the gravitational well of the Omega 3 star. Initial scans have revealed immense quantities of Cobalt locked under it's icy crust. Due to it's proximity to the star, the comet cannot be mined directly, but the star is slowly eroding the comet. The comet's tail contains small quantities, easily retrievable Cobalt.
Location: E/5, E/5

Roth Asteroid Field

Roth Asteroid Field
A medium-sized field of mixed carbonaceous and ice asteroids. The Daumann Polymer and Hydrocarbon operation of Ruegen has been plagued by repeated Red Hessian attacks.
Location: F/6

Coombe Asteroid Field

Coombe Asteroid Field
A medium-sized field of mixed carbonaceous and ice asteroids. The second Bretonia Mining and Manufacturing (BMM) Polymer production facility is located here on Douglas Station, though attacks by Corsairs have required BMM to substantially increase security.
Location: E/7

Burgess Ice Field

Burgess Ice Field
A medium-sized field of ice asteroids. Freeport 1 is located near the inner edge of the field, and will sell its excess supplies to anyone without prejudice -- including Corsairs, who frequent the area.
Location: C/3

Wilkes Ice Field

Wilkes Ice Field
A medium-sized field of ice asteroids. Often used as cover by Red Hessian pirates to attack Trade Lane traffic passing through the area.
Location: F/4

Graham Ice Cloud

Graham Ice Cloud
GRAHAM ICE FIELD
A medium-sized cloud of ice asteroids. Corsairs can sometimes be spotted in the cloud on their way to attack transport ships on the Trade Lanes.
Location: B/5

Space Stations

Freeport 1

Freeport 1 was built in 738 A.S., by a group of vagrants, wanderers and social outcasts that had left territories of the Houses in order to live beyond the rules and regulations enforced in the core systems.
Over time, however, Freeport 1 has grown, with new cargo modules and habitation decks being constructed until the Freeport was barely recognisable from the small platform it started out as.

Rugen Station

Rugen Station was built by Daumann Heavy Construction for the manufacturing of Polymers using the abundant raw materials found in the system. While pirates are always a problem, Daumann's long-running rivalry with the neighboring Bretonia Mining and Manufacturing (BMM) operation on Douglas Station has resulted in more than a few exchanges of weapons fire.

Aland Shipyard

A large station within Wilkes Ice Field, Aland was built in 810-817 A.S. by the Independent Miners Guild.

Water
Dihydrogen monoxide (H2O) is odorless, tasteless, transparent, and absolutely essential to human life. Roughly 75% of the human body is composed of Water. Deprived of Water, most humans can only live three days. The process of dehydration is a painful one, as tissues shrivel and vessels shrink in a desperate bid by the dying body to preserve its remaining vital functions.
