| description = Sigma-13 is a Border World system that lies between Honshu and Frankfurt. This system lies deep within the Crow Nebula, where volatile gas pockets are frequently encountered. During the 80-year war between the Rheinland Military and the Gas Miners Guild (GMG), the GMG lured the Rheinland fleet deep into this system. A massive GMG ambush, compounded by the gas pockets, resulted the total defeat of the Rheinlanders. That being said, lingering outside marked trade lanes is not recommended.

| description = Omega-3 is a border world system located right next to Cambridge. This system is patrolled by the Bretonian Armed Forces, and occassional patrols from the Red Hessians and Corsairs can be sighted as well. Four bases have been established in this system, with one of them being a Zoner Freeport. The Freeport, Aland Shipyard and the jump gates to Cambridge and Omega-7 are connected by tradelanes.

: A very large comet, possibly a rogue planetoid, caught in the gravitational well of the Omega 3 star. Initial scans have revealed immense quantities of Cobalt locked under it's icy crust. Due to it's proximity to the star, the comet cannot be mined directly, but the star is slowly eroding the comet. The comet's tail contains small quantities, easily retrievable Cobalt.

: During the Eighty Years War between Rheinland and the Gas Miners Guild, huge battles were fought across the entire Sigma-13 system and there were even occasional skirmishes between the two sides within the Frankfurt system itself. The war came to a climax in 668 A.S. at the Battle of the Yanagi Cloud, when the entire Rheinland Imperial Navy was ambushed and destroyed in a battle that lasted a mere 42 minutes. The only surviving battleship was the heavily damaged Westfalen, which managed to flee back to the New Berlin system through an unstable jump hole, covered by a few remaining fighters.
+
: GRAHAM ICE FIELD

: With 11 battleships, 24 cruisers and countless fighters destroyed, along with over 17,000 personnel dead or missing in action, the Rheinland Navy had effectively been destroyed. The government of Rheinland were forced into seeking peace negotiations with the Gas Miners Guild, who could barely contain their delight with their decisive victory. As a result, the government were forced to pay enormous sums of money in reparations, and recognise the Sigma systems as the sovereign territory of the Gas Miners Guild. Rheinland was almost completely bankrupted, as were Kruger Minerals, which had to empty its own coffers as punishment for its own part in the ill-advised war.

: The wreckage of that final battle remained in the cloud for over a century, a painful reminder of the Rheinland Military's (formerly the Rheinland Imperial Navy) humiliating defeat at the hands of the Gas Miners Guild. In 792 A.S., however, ALG Waste Disposal was contracted by the GMG to begin the cleanup operations of the Yanagi Cloud debris. ALG soon found that the Junkers had already moved into the area and had constructed Yanagi Depot, looting the choicest bits of wreckage for themselves. Although the Junkers were less concerned with the removal of bodies for burial than the looting and salvaging of wrecks, ALG decided to hire them to clean up the more dangerous wrecks, many of which had damaged reactor cores leaking heavily radioactive waste into the clouds.
+
: A medium-sized cloud of ice asteroids. Corsairs can sometimes be spotted in the cloud on their way to attack transport ships on the Trade Lanes.

: Pressured continually by the Rheinland government and the GMG to clean up the mess faster, ALG eventually declared the Yanagi Cloud completely free of any salvageable wrecks in 814 A.S., citing that all remaining debris in the Yanagi Cloud consists mainly of human bodies, wrecked hull panels, various broken bits of un-repairable weapons and corroded proximity mines that remained armed. The Yanagi Cloud is expected to be completely cleared around 824 A.S.

Gas Miner Naha
+
Freeport 1
: Rich in vital gas resources, the Sigma-13 system has been contested by a number of groups since its discovery in 60 AS. Conflict reached a fever pitch when the system became one of the more fiercely contested prizes during the 80-Years War between the Gas Mining Guild (GMG) and Rheinland. Using speed and a thorough knowledge of the territory, the GMG managed to push back the Rheinland forces, finally obliterating the bulk of the Rheinland Navy at the Battle of the Yanagi Nebula. Since that time the system has been almost exclusively under GMG control, and the Gas Miner Naha has provided support for the GMG's extensive mining operations.
+
: Freeport 1 was built in 738 A.S., by a group of vagrants, wanderers and social outcasts that had left territories of the Houses in order to live beyond the rules and regulations enforced in the core systems. It was the first ever Freeport to be constructed, as the name clearly states, and it quickly gained popularity with the criminals, outlaws and others of a dubious disposition as a place to easily obtain supplies and repair their ships. Most of the criminals who visit Freeport 1 tend to be members of the Mollys or the Corsairs, although the occasional Red Hessian and Gaian are seen onboard.
 +

 +
: Over time, however, Freeport 1 has grown, with new cargo modules and habitation decks being constructed until the Freeport was barely recognisable from the small platform it started out as. Small ships are known to be constructed here, sold to both freelancers, criminals and other zoners, and although Bretonia has made irritated noises towards the Freeport, they have as yet left it alone, preferring to put up with the annoyance of criminals docking there to the unknown consequences that might otherwise occur by antagonising the largely peaceful Zoner society.

Rugen Station
: At the Battle of the Yanagi Nebula, the forces of the Gas Mining Guild managed to obliterate almost the entire Rheinland Navy in a surprise maneuver. The remnant of that great battle is a vast field of Scrap Metal and radioactive cores that has rendered the area a major navigational hazard. Under an agreement brokered by Interspace Commerce (IC), ALG Waste Disposal has been allowed to build Helgoland Station and begin clean-up of the affected area, shipping Scrap Metal and other waste back to Rheinland for re-smelting.
+
: Rugen Station was built by Daumann Heavy Construction for the manufacturing of Polymers using the abundant raw materials found in the system. While pirates are always a problem, Daumann's long-running rivalry with the neighboring Bretonia Mining and Manufacturing (BMM) operation on Douglas Station has resulted in more than a few exchanges of weapons fire.

Yanagi Depot
+
Douglas Station
: Where there's junk, there are the Junkers. They've been around since the earliest days of the Trade Lanes. Descended from the working classes, they developed within the House systems as a sort of necessary evil, handling the dirty work that no one else would. They do well salvaging valuable materials from the ever-increasing debris fields throughout Sirius, with the notable exception of Kusari. To this day they remain held at bay by the Hogosha.
+
: Douglas Station is owned and operated by Bretonia Mining and Manufacturing (BMM) for the manufacturing of Polymers using the abundant raw materials in the system. Security around the facility is abnormally high due to frequent skirmishes with Corsairs.

: Anyone who deals with Junkers knows they live by a strict code; if you're not a Junker, you're not part of the family. A Junker will double-cross you without a second thought, and they're fiercely protective of each other. Most House corporations consider the Junkers to be simple criminals, but Junkers will occasionally do favors for the police, turning in the odd, mid-level criminal or letting them know about the occasional drug shipment. So despite some harassment, the police stop short of shutting them down. The infrequent police cleanup operations are little more than exercises in public relations, though there's no love lost between the two groups.

: The Junkers make their official money from salvaging debris within the fields, but also have a good deal going with various criminals, who like their "no questions asked" policy. Tolerated by the governments, Junkers sometimes deal in contraband, but they are extremely hard to catch red-handed. They are frequently patronized by the criminal element for the refuge they offer within the often hostile territory of House capitol systems.

: Liberty has two groups: a major population in the New York system, and a smaller enclave in Texas. The Junker base of operations in New London is located near the shipyards within the Southampton Debris Field. In New Berlin they scavenge the remaining pockets of industrial waste and scrap within the asteroid fields. Their latest foray is a departure -- a base in the Border Worlds. Attracted by the ALG operation in Sigma-13, they have set up shop near the facility and do most of the dirty work, picking off the best loot from the old ships for themselves. It also serves as a convenient launching point for Cardamine and Artifact runs into New Berlin. Long-distance smuggling is new for the faction, which is still perfecting this skill.

Aland Shipyard
 +
: A large station within Wilkes Ice Field, Aland was built in 810-817 A.S. by the Independent Miners Guild. Guild used unoccupied space between two trade lanes to construct their first shipyard capable of building and maintaining large vessels. Additionally, the building site attracted a number of refugees from Holman, South Shields and Hood who were seeking for jobs and safer places to stay. Now, Aland Shipyard has become home for over a thousand Independent Miners who came here from Bretonia and Omega Border Worlds.

: The rapid industrialization that followed the settlement of the Sirius Sector has resulted in large fields of Scrap Metal, the detritus resulting from extensive manufacturing and mining operations. These debris fields present both a navigational hazard and a potential second-stage resource, so a small cottage industry has sprung up among those who collect scrap metal and resell it at smelting plants.
+
: Dihydrogen monoxide (H2O) is odorless, tasteless, transparent, and absolutely essential to human life. Roughly 75% of the human body is composed of Water. Deprived of Water, most humans can only live three days. The process of dehydration is a painful one, as tissues shrivel and vessels shrink in a desperate bid by the dying body to preserve its remaining vital functions.

: Moderately damaged hull panels, salvagable engine components and other ship parts that are too valuable to be simply thrown in the smelters. These salvaged parts can be refurbished by some shipyards, and put back into service. They are in demand at shipyards that do not have a steady supply of new parts.
+
: Hydrocarbons are a class of organic compounds composed only of hydrogen and carbon molecules, resulting in a wide variety of substances that have important industrial applications. While hydrocarbons naturally occur in a gaseous state almost everywhere in the known universe, frozen deposits present the most easily exploited form of the substance. Hydrocarbon mining is key to the industrialization of the Sirius Sector as it provides the raw materials for the creation of the Ship Hull Panels and Optronics, upon which modern society depends.

: A lighter isotope of Helium gas, He3 is an essential component of the H-Fuel used across Sirius. When mixed in equal proportion with Deuterium, the resulting fuel has the advantage of being 'aneutronic' - that is, it does not produce dangerous neutrons that require heavy shielding. Gas Mining companies like the GMG and Samura can charge a premium by delivering the Helium-3 component directly to customers, letting them add their own Deuterium onsite. Known reserves of Helium-3 are in the Crow Nebula of the Sigmas, and the Shiden Cloud in the Hokkaido system.
+
: Ore is a type of rock that contains minerals such as metals which can be extracted through mining and refined for use. The ores must be processed to extract the metals of interest from the waste rock and from the ore minerals. Many organizations prefer to receive unsmelted ores in order to keep the additional cost of their production and finish within the local economy, as opposed to paying markups to foreign laborers to do the work for them.

Omega-3 is a border world system located right next to Cambridge.

Nebulae & Asteroids

Cross-Vandermeer Comet

Cross-Vandermeer Comet
A very large comet, possibly a rogue planetoid, caught in the gravitational well of the Omega 3 star. Initial scans have revealed immense quantities of Cobalt locked under it's icy crust. Due to it's proximity to the star, the comet cannot be mined directly, but the star is slowly eroding the comet. The comet's tail contains small quantities, easily retrievable Cobalt.
Location: E/5, E/5

Roth Asteroid Field

Roth Asteroid Field
A medium-sized field of mixed carbonaceous and ice asteroids. The Daumann Polymer and Hydrocarbon operation of Ruegen has been plagued by repeated Red Hessian attacks.
Location: F/6

Coombe Asteroid Field

Coombe Asteroid Field
A medium-sized field of mixed carbonaceous and ice asteroids. The second Bretonia Mining and Manufacturing (BMM) Polymer production facility is located here on Douglas Station, though attacks by Corsairs have required BMM to substantially increase security.
Location: E/7

Burgess Ice Field

Burgess Ice Field
A medium-sized field of ice asteroids. Freeport 1 is located near the inner edge of the field, and will sell its excess supplies to anyone without prejudice -- including Corsairs, who frequent the area.
Location: C/3

Wilkes Ice Field

Wilkes Ice Field
A medium-sized field of ice asteroids. Often used as cover by Red Hessian pirates to attack Trade Lane traffic passing through the area.
Location: F/4

Graham Ice Cloud

Graham Ice Cloud
GRAHAM ICE FIELD
A medium-sized cloud of ice asteroids. Corsairs can sometimes be spotted in the cloud on their way to attack transport ships on the Trade Lanes.
Location: B/5

Space Stations

Freeport 1

Freeport 1 was built in 738 A.S., by a group of vagrants, wanderers and social outcasts that had left territories of the Houses in order to live beyond the rules and regulations enforced in the core systems.
Over time, however, Freeport 1 has grown, with new cargo modules and habitation decks being constructed until the Freeport was barely recognisable from the small platform it started out as.

Rugen Station was built by Daumann Heavy Construction for the manufacturing of Polymers using the abundant raw materials found in the system. While pirates are always a problem, Daumann's long-running rivalry with the neighboring Bretonia Mining and Manufacturing (BMM) operation on Douglas Station has resulted in more than a few exchanges of weapons fire.

Douglas Station

Douglas Station is owned and operated by Bretonia Mining and Manufacturing (BMM) for the manufacturing of Polymers using the abundant raw materials in the system. Security around the facility is abnormally high due to frequent skirmishes with Corsairs.

Aland Shipyard

A large station within Wilkes Ice Field, Aland was built in 810-817 A.S. by the Independent Miners Guild.

Water
Dihydrogen monoxide (H2O) is odorless, tasteless, transparent, and absolutely essential to human life. Roughly 75% of the human body is composed of Water. Deprived of Water, most humans can only live three days. The process of dehydration is a painful one, as tissues shrivel and vessels shrink in a desperate bid by the dying body to preserve its remaining vital functions.

Hydrocarbons

Hydrocarbons
Hydrocarbons are a class of organic compounds composed only of hydrogen and carbon molecules, resulting in a wide variety of substances that have important industrial applications.

Cobalt Ore

Cobalt Ore
Ore is a type of rock that contains minerals such as metals which can be extracted through mining and refined for use. The ores must be processed to extract the metals of interest from the waste rock and from the ore minerals. Many organizations prefer to receive unsmelted ores in order to keep the additional cost of their production and finish within the local economy, as opposed to paying markups to foreign laborers to do the work for them.
