Omega-15 is a checkpoint system of the Border Worlds. It is mostly a battleground between the Corsairs and the Red Hessians, who are seen in large numbers in the system. It is also home to Battleship Schwerin, which orbits planet Rugen, awaiting the mining expeditions that will probably be soon sent there by Daumann Heavy Construction and Kruger Minerals. Omega-15 also houses an outpost of the Bounty Hunters Guild, which is mostly used as a refueling station for pilots who want to venture further into the border worlds. Junkers are also present in this system, although they try to keep to their Depot inside the Gruinder Debris Field.

Planetary Bodies

Planet Skagen

Planet Skagen
This hot world is the only living witness of nearby mysterious explosion - explosion of an unknown object that most assume to be a Rheinland space station. During the infamous 80 year war with GMG, when Rheinland Military had to withdraw from Omega-15, the system was completely overtaken by pirates. Rheinland government restricted access to all documents about old Omega-15 activities, and even Junkers who investigate the site for many years have no clues about what exactly happened on the orbit of Skagen.

Mass: 5.42 x 1024 kg.
Terrain: Terrestrial
Temperature: -27°C to 39°C
Escape Velocity: 12.15 km/sec

Planet Rugen

Planet Rugen
Despite numerous large deposits of cobalt and silver discovered in the planet's crust during initial surveys by the IMG many years ago, due to the anarchic and unstable nature of the Omega 15 system, no attempt has ever yet been made to extract the materials, although with the recent stationing of the Battleship Schwerin in orbit, it may only be a matter of time before Daumann or Kruger make an attempt.

Nebulae and Asteroids

Gruinder Debris Feild

Please upload an image of this field.
Cloud of debris remaining after an explosion of a large space station several hudred years ago, most probably a secret Rheinland installation. Junkers built a depot inside the field to study its origin and collect salvage. However, due to ongoing conflict between Corsairs and Red Hessians, Junkers may soon be forced to leave unhospitable Omega-15 system for good.

Walker Nebula
An outcropping of Walker nebula that remained after formation of star system.

Space Stations

Battleship Schwerin

Battleship Schwerin
Despite the disastrous destruction of their research installation in orbit of the planet Skagen many years ago, the Rheinland Military decided to station the Battleship Schwerin in orbit of the planet Rugen in order to guard the known jump hole to the Dresden system.
Launched in early 816 A.S., the Battleship Schwerin is one of the newest battleships in the Rheinland Fleet, although its captain, Commodore Jessika Lowe, has seen action in many engagements against the Corsairs during the brief but bloody Corsair invasion of Rheinland.
Due to the heavy pirate activity in Omega-15 that not even the recently constructed Bounty Hunter base of Rostock has been able to contain, the Battleship Schwerin is the Rheinland Military's frontline defence against the Red Hessians, Junkers and Corsairs that continually try to enter Dresden.

Where there's junk, there are the Junkers. They've been around since the earliest days of the Trade Lanes. Descended from the working classes, they developed within the House systems as a sort of necessary evil, handling the dirty work that no one else would. They do well salvaging valuable materials from the ever-increasing debris fields throughout Sirius, with the notable exception of Kusari. To this day they remain held at bay by the Hogosha.
Anyone who deals with Junkers knows they live by a strict code; if you're not a Junker, you're not part of the family. A Junker will double-cross you without a second thought, and they're fiercely protective of each other. Most House corporations consider the Junkers to be simple criminals, but Junkers will occasionally do favors for the police, turning in the odd, mid-level criminal or letting them know about the occasional drug shipment. So despite some harassment, the police stop short of shutting them down. The infrequent police cleanup operations are little more than exercises in public relations, though there's no love lost between the two groups.
The Junkers make their official money from salvaging debris within the fields, but also have a good deal going with various criminals, who like their "no questions asked" policy. Tolerated by the governments, Junkers sometimes deal in contraband, but they are extremely hard to catch red-handed. They are frequently patronized by the criminal element for the refuge they offer within the often hostile territory of House capitol systems.
Liberty has two groups: a major population in the New York system, and a smaller enclave in Texas. The Junker base of operations in New London is located near the shipyards within the Southampton Debris Field. In New Berlin they scavenge the remaining pockets of industrial waste and scrap within the asteroid fields. Their latest foray is a departure -- a base in the Border Worlds. Attracted by the ALG operation in Sigma-13, they have set up shop near the facility and do most of the dirty work, picking off the best loot from the old ships for themselves. It also serves as a convenient launching point for Cardamine and Artifact runs into New Berlin. Long-distance smuggling is new for the faction, which is still perfecting this skill.

Ore is a type of rock that contains minerals such as gemstones which can be extracted through mining and refined for use. The ores must be processed to extract the gemstones of interest from the waste rock and from the ore minerals. Many organizations prefer to receive unprocessed ores in order to keep the additional cost of their production and finish within the local economy, as opposed to paying markups to foreign laborers to do the work for them.
