Liberty JR-2 "Peacekeeper" Missile Launcher

Representing a bold foray from the realm of personnel armaments into ship-based equipment, the JR-2 "Peacekeeper" snubcraft missile is one of the newest innovations out of Detroit Munitions. The JR-2 fires small "canister"-like projectiles - each containing a single cheap tracking device, an equally cheap gyroscopically-oriented thruster, and a whole lot of flaming plasma. While the projectiles can't always be counted on to actually hit their targets without skillful aim on the part of the pilot, when they do the results speak for themselves. The simplicity and effectiveness of the Peacekeeper's design has seen it quickly reverse-engineered and employed by groups all across central Sirius.
