Bretonia, or the Kingdom of Bretonia is the title of one of the four original houses in Sirius. It's territory extends across many systems on the western side of The Barrier, with various claims to systems bordering the Walker Nebula as well as ones deep within The Barrier itself. It is a constitutional monarchy with the monarch (King or Queen) representing the state while the parliament presides over the government. Bretonian sovereign territories border the systems of Omega-3, Magellan, Cortez and Tau-31.

Government
Bretonia's capital is Planet New London in the New London system. The heart of Bretonia's extensive bureaucracy, all of the major Bretonian corporations have offices on New London. The Bretonia Police Authority's central headquarters is here, but the Armed Forces only have recruitment outlets on the planet, keeping their administrative capabilities, at large, in space.
The Bretonian Kingdom is a constitutional monarchy with Queen Carina I as its Head of State.

Bretonia Armed Forces
The Bretonia Armed Forces has a long history of serving as the first and last line of defense for the great nation of Bretonia, a history that is now written in the scars of an extremely vicious war with Gallia. Having suffered unimaginable casualties and released their conscripts from service, the Armed Forces now look to rebuild with their home, cherishing a hard-won peace.

Bretonia Police Authority
Officers in the Bretonia Police Authority are well-trained, well-armed, and widely considered to be a bastion of incorruptibility. They are also spread few and far between. Many were directly conscripted into the Armed Forces during the wars with Kusari and Gallia, those left behind were faced with Corsair incursions and a resurgent Molly uprising. The shaky stability of post-war Bretonia has improved recruitment numbers somewhat, although they still fall well short of their pre-war numbers, in a House that needs them more than ever.

Bretonia Intelligence Service
The Bretonia Intelligence Service is the Bretonian covert operations service, specialising in sabotage and subterfuge outside of core Bretonian space. They work closely with the Crown to ensure their goals abroad are met, even if they must resort to unsavory tactics and underhanded conspiracies.
Corporations
Bretonia Mining & Manufacturing
Bretonia Mining and Manufacturing (BMM) is one of the largest commercial concerns in Bretonia, a network of semi-autonomous operations that range throughout Bretonian space. Alongside Bowex, they form an industrial partnership and conglomerate that curries the lion's share of government contracts and favor. Their particularly poor working conditions in Dublin and beyond led to the establishment of the Molly movement, a thorn in Bretonia's side to the present day, and the Independent Miners' Guild, the largest non-aligned mining organization in Sirius and one of BMM's chief competitors

Border World Exports
Border World Exports is a pioneer in the exploration of the Border Worlds, and the preferred supplier of the Bretonian government. The bulk of their contracts are the result of a direct partnership with Bretonia Mining and Manufacturing, providing shipping of their raw materials and finished goods at an extremely competitive rate. They maintain a tense corporate rivalry with the independent underdog Gateway Shipping, who often competes with Bowex in vain for Crown shipping contracts
Gateway Shipping
Gateway Shipping is a young Bretonian firm that hauls raw materials across the Border and Independent Worlds, catering chiefly to smaller, independent companies. They primarily provide shipping services to the Independent Miners Guild, competing with BMM and their preferred shipping partner, Bowex. Their partnership has also expanded to include the industrial prowess of ALG, who competes with Daumann, Kruger, and Imperial Shipping in the Omegas.
Planetform
Planetform Inc. specializes in the terraforming of non-viable planets in Bretonia and elsewhere. They are most often preyed upon by Gaians, who see Planetform and their terraforming operations as the ultimate ideological enemy to be conquered.
Criminal Activity
Mollys
The Mollys are a separatist group committed to Dublin's sovereignty and freedom from Bretonian rule and Corsair influence. Attacking civilian, commercial, and military targets in equal measure, the Mollys have been branded as radical terrorists by all major Houses for their repeated attacks on critical infrastructure and the lawlessness they have brought to the Dublin system.

Gaians
The Gaians are a radical environmentalist group opposed to terraforming and uncontrolled industrialization. Due to the ecological issues plaguing Bretonia, the Gaians enjoyed considerable support from Cambridge academics and environmentally conscious individuals across New London and Leeds. The successive catastrophes of the Tau and Gallic Wars further complicated the Gaians' difficult relationship with Bretonia, with some denouncing them as traitors for their shifting alliances. In the aftermath of these wars, public sentiment remains mixed; while the Gaian cause is popular, many lingering resentments about the movement's conduct remain.

Corsairs
Considered by many to be the largest criminal organization in Sirius, the Corsairs inherit one half of the legacy of the Sleeper Ship Hispania. They have developed into a quasi-nation of raiders and pirates, targeting civilian and military targets with reckless abandon as they plunder the border worlds. While they spar with their Outcast brethren over territory and historic grievances, their bloodiest conflict to-date has been that with the Red Hessians, as neither side dares to give up ground in the resource-rich Omegas.
