Cairo is one of the most recently constructed outposts put into service by the Order. It serves as a waystation for patrols heading into the upper Omicrons, and a rest stop for vessels returning from there. The station itself dedicates a significant amount of resources to monitoring Omicron Zeta traffic and tracking the unusually high Nomad presence in the system. Patrol paths are frequently updated with new flight patterns to cover and defend the station, as the Order is functionally unable to secure the whole system from potential and real hostile forces alike.
