The Landwirtrechtbewegung, or LWB for short, was a small yet influential group of disenfranchised farmers mostly from Planet Stuttgart who were faced with economic hardships after Rheinland was forced to allow Liberty corporations to buy out land on Stuttgart to repay their debt after the Liberty-Rheinland War. With the beginning of a new war in the Sigma systems, the LWB started to ideologically splinter along those who held more nationalistic tendencies and those who thought along more international lines. Slowly but surely, the movement began to dissolve, with both camps either joining the Unioners or the Red Hessians, seeing no future for the LWB and thus leaving many LWB bases abandoned and in disrepair.
Recently repressurized and repaired by the Coalition, Darmstadt Depot now serves a purpose again, although under a new master. Both the Red Hessians and the Coalition, who claimed Darmstadt Depot, make frequent use of the base both as a refuelling outpost in the Stuttgart System as well as a staging point for raids on the adjacent resort Planet of Baden Baden.
