In 800 [[A.S.]], the convoy he was escorting brought spare parts for the [[Sigma-19]] jump gate in [[Sigma-17]] to the repair crew on [[Freeport 7]]. Directly after the jump from [[Sigma-19]] through the gate, they saw a group of unidentified vessels with reportedly strange energy signatures on the scanners. Seconds later, a huge explosion shocked the system. Because of the explosion, the internalt systems collapsed and hours, but they felt like days, the convoy was towed to [[planet Kurile]] for repairs. With the rescue teams, a horde of [[LSF]]-agents overrun the system and the hole convoy-crew was questioned by them and they must not tell anybody about it. They convoy became the order to go back to [[Liberty]].

Ned Kelly was born in 779 A.S. on Planet Manhattan in New York as the son of Ben Kelly who worked on the Baltimore Shipyard. Therefore, Ned came early in contact with spaceships and his passion for them was aroused. After school, he was hired as a crewman on a Deep Space Engineering-transport and travelled trought the whole Sirius. Few years later, DSE sent him to a fighter pilot training school to and gave him a Hawk to escort the DSE-convoys through the Border- and Independent Worlds.
