The Gallic Armored Transport was designed to carry assault troops or war supplies to the battlefield without the need for a fighter escort, and is capable of directly assaulting capital ships and space stations. The Taureau was designed around the chassis of the Perilous GRN Gunboat, but makes use of a less substantial power core, which freed up considerable space in the interior. The Taureau is thus capable of transporting an entire company of Royal Marines along with their battle gear. The favored tactic of a Taureau Marine assault is to blast open the docking bay doors with turret fire, often supported by a Perilous Gunboat, then land in the decompressed docking bay to disembark troops.
Due to the ship's heavy armor and defensive capabilities, it is sometimes used as a shuttle for prisoners, high value cargo, high ranking military officers, diplomats and even members of the Gallic Royal court.
Handling
- This ship is too large to use docking bays, it must use mooring points.

The Taureau is potentially a very fun ship. The idea of it being a hollowed gunboat makes it very fun to fly as a group. It's small and fast enough that a group can effectively navigate together to kill targets and not hit each other during combat, and it's got enough firepower with 8 turrets that it can dish out more damage than most transports of its size. It's also got 3,000 cargo space, which is pretty nice for such a ship. However, of these 8 turrets, 7 fire forwards, and two fire backwards. It plays similarly to a hatchet, best used for charging the target, engine killing, and turning around as all of your guns fire upon the target as you move backwards away from it, and then charging it again. With gallic transport turrets, you can fully pretend that you really are flying a gallic gunboat, only it has two engines on the back, instead of one.Error creating thumbnail: Unable to save thumbnail to destination Review by TLI-Inferno |
