General Informations
Jack Aubrey (born May 29th 787, Planet Cambridge) was the leader of Cerberus, and a former career officer within the Bretonian Armed Forces. He is notorious for the assault on Emperor Jien Kogen's flagship, the Satsuma, back when he was a member of a loose organization known simply as Queen Carina's Royal Privateers, an unique unit of the Armed Forces with special training to act behind enemy lines.
Early Life
Jack Aubrey was born as the only child of Lord Robert Cornelius Aubrey, a royalist parliamentarian under the govern of Queen Carina II, his mother was Jennifer Winslow, a deputy within the Bretonia Police Authority. The family of Aubrey had a strong past, in which saw his family involved in the major conflicts in which Bretonia was involved. Jack had a strong passion for the dead languages, like latin and greek, aswell as modern languages as kusari, english and spanish.
At the age of sixteen he joined the New Oxfordshire military academy, in which he quickly became intrigued by military tactics, history and about war. Especially the escalde in the war between Rheinland and Bretonia, back in 800 A.S. After that he graduated at the academy, he joined the 11th Reserve Army at New Pembroke, on Planet New London. The rise of criminal activity and the subsequent raise of drugs imported within Bretonia caused a general chaos, in which the police could not withstand anymore. One day, an emergency call from the police department told the garrison commander that Lancelot Bank was under siege by a group of armed thieves, using hostages as human shields. The protocol provides that in that case of emergency, in which hostages are involved, a squad of snipers were required in the field.
While the rest of his squad was attempting to breach inside the bank from the backyard, Aubrey and another squadmate fixed their sniper rifles on the building in front of the bank, right under an illuminated placard, the light didn't allow the thieves to see them. Aubrey managed to count three of them, heavily armed and without doubt, Mollies. Time was running out, and the thieves said that if they weren't allowed to escape by jet, they would kill one hostage each hour that passed. At this request, the ground team made breach, instantly killing two of the thieves. But the other two kept their laser pistols pointed at the hostages. Aubrey gave order to neutralize them to the other sniper.
A few hours later, and the four bodies of the Molly group known as The New Revolutionaries. After that successful mission, Aubrey was called by the police deputy chief, and by his garrison commander. The Bretonian Armed forces saw him in action on the News, and they wanted him to make a transfer request immediately. He accepted.
The Kusari-Bretonia conflict
He joined the Armed Forces with the rank of Lieutenant, a fast earned rank to his ability in combat, either in combat or during a combat simulation. He fought for the Armed Forces for a period of four months, being present in each major conflict, from the battle of the Upper Taus, to the loss of Glasgow and Stokes. He was one of the first to see the MacDuff being deployed to Tau-31, in order to guard the interests of Bretonia towards Planet Harris.
During this period, it is yet uncertain when, he got contacted by a Privateer, working directly under the order of the Queen. The rules were simple, attack and destroy, but behind the enemy lines. Easy to say, difficult to accomplish. The first operation in which Aubrey was involved was a complete failure, allowing a precious transport of Nuclear Devices to enter in Kusari. But two months later, while on patrol with a fellow privateer, he saw the Satsuma, the yacht of emperor Jien Kogen himself. They did not hesitate to open directly fire, but several destroyers and various snubcraft vessels came to aid the imperial yacht, forcing the two privateers to flee.
He left the Bretonian Armed Forces after the rather infamous bombardment of Planet Cambridge, with a MOX warhead, by the Phantoms. The bomb centered Wellington District, the city with the higher population density on Planet Cambridge, unfortunately, Jack's family perished alongside millions of other innocent civilians. Jack left the armed forces, to seek revenge against the Phantoms. The armed forces discharged him with honor. The last known battle fought by Aubrey for the Queen is the battle of the Upper Taus, the battle in which he gained the honorary rank of Colonel. Some records about his service within the Armed Forces were whipped after that several rumors reached the armed forces of him joining The Order.
Activity within the Order
Jack kept his rank of Colonel within the Order, and he was nicknamed The Colonel by some secondary fleet members and primary alike for his excellent combat skills. He is currently the leader of Cerberus, and one of the field supervisors of Wedjat, the Order Intelligence Division.
He was also probably behind ExoGeni, and the intricate sistem in which Cerberus funded itself.
Cerberus
On the road towards the Edge Nebula, Jack managed to raise up a strange trio, comprised by a former deep space engineering researcher, Dave Synk, and a former mercenary, Cayle Swanson. What happened when Jack found the Order's homeworld is yet unknown, but it is certain that he is the original founder of Cerberus, a highly trained unit, acting independently from the Order's Intelligence Division. From where did Aubrey managed to get the funds for a colossus like Cerberus is yet unknown, but somebody hypothesized that ExoGeni, one of the most richest corporation in Bretonia, is secretely controlled by Cerberus. This should explain the origin of the funds.
Curiosity
During one of the bounty hunter's incursions within Omicron Kappa, it is known that Aubrey's personal fighter got shot down by the batteries of a heavy cruiser, and crashed on Planet Gammu, towards the north pole. But he survived the crash, reaching an abandoned research outpost to seek shelter. He later used the radio equipment from his wrecked fighter to call in for an extraction team.
His personal fighter, an Order Bastet heavily modified by Cerberus, has a rather interesting peculiarity in its color, black, and two big white crosses on the portwings, similar to a templar cross.
Personality
He is known to be a rather pleasant person, and an excellent commander noted for his ability to inspire and bring out the best in his men.
