Nickel appears silvery with a gold tinge, as is a hard, ductile metal that can form Magnets of intermediate strength bewteen iron and rare element Magnets. it is primarily used as an ingredient in alloys, and due to its low rate of oxidation is often applied through electroplating as a coating to protect less corrosive resistant metals.
