Independent Miners Guild has built this base inside one of the Westray Field's larger asteroids in 801 A.S. Certain rare metals were discovered in the field, however, economical significance of this area proved to be lower than initially expected. The station was populated only with few IMG engineers for almost 10 years. After that, the war between Bretonia and Kusari forced many miners to escape from Tau region, and some families chose Dounby as their new place of living. Despite sporadic raids of the Outcasts, they lived a calm and peaceful life, until the cameras that monitored space around the station silently displayed large explosions inside the mine field located not far from their home...
