Background
Lux Ryder was originally born on Planet Cambridge under the name Lucius. His mother was a Zoner from Planet Gran Canaria which, of course, was close to Bretonia. His father was of Corsair origin.
His father, Diego Ryder, originally left the Corsair Empire due to resenting their way of life and wanting something more. He packed all his belongings onto a Correo and set off for a peaceful life on Gran Canaria. At one point, Diego met Lucius's mother, Zoey. Diego and Zoey eventually got married, and fled from Omega-49 to the Cambridge system where they then settled and set up a healthy business empire.
Later on, Zoey gave birth to Lux, christened Lucius originally.
He lived a very happy life with his parents on Cambridge, his family was wealthy. His mother and father cared for him deeply and cared for him deeply also. Unfortunately, happiness was not set to last.
When Lucius was fourteen, his parents had decided to take him on Holiday to Planet Curacao as part of his Birthday gift. They packed their bags and boarded onto their Democritus.
After a one week vacation on Planet Curacao, the Ryder family then proceeded to go down the Planet Curacao - [Manchester] Jump Gate lane. As they were traveling down the lane, they were intercepted by a Corsair raiding party. The Corsairs halted the Democritus. They gave no demands, but proceeded to board the vessel. Once inside, the Corsairs told the Ryder family that Diego was an insult to the Corsair Empire. They said how it was a grave crime to leave the Empire and further more to breed with a Non-Corsair and to harbor a child. Diego told Zoey and Lucius to keep behind him. He pulled out a gun from his pocket, ready to fire upon to Corsairs. Unfortunately, Diego was in a hopeless situation. The Corsairs shot Diego, killing him and causing him to fall to the ground in front of Lucius, a horrific thing for him to see. The Corsairs weren't finished yet, they then shot Zoey, mocking her whilst doing so. Then it came to Lucius's turn, the Corsairs were ready to fire but then a BPA Siren sounded. They then left the Democritus as fast as they could. Lucius was horrified. His life had just fallen apart in front of his eyes. His parents lay dead in front of him and he was powerless to save their lives.
Later, Lucius was delivered to Sheffield station. He was told to tell the BPA about the events that happened there but he was too shocked to speak. He would be mute for a few years, never speaking to anyone.
After the questioning, it became apparent that Lucius had no where to go. His family was dead, he had no relatives to turn to. All he had was his family fortune, but what was money worth in comparison to the ones he loved?
He decided to mope around Sheffield station. He didn't feel like returning to Cambridge. Staying around, he decided to look at some of the things the residing Bounty Hunters Guild did there. He was caught by one of the Hunters though as they believed he was snooping. He didn't answer them what he was doing however, as he was mute.
The Guild saw that they could make something of Lucius. Although on the outside he was sad and distraught, he contained untapped rage that could be used by the Guild. From that moment, the Guild took the fourteen year old Lucius under their wing. He thought that by being with the Guild, he could learn how to avenge his parents.
They molded him, shaped him and turned him into a Hunter. They taught him hand to hand combat, proficiency in weaponry and piloting skills.
Once he had finished his course, aged 20, he left Sheffield as a fully fledged Bounty Hunter. Before he did so, he spoke for the first time within 6 years. "Thank you" he said to the Guildmaster. Lucius left Sheffield in his Manta, keen collecting his first Bounty. Coincidentally, a BPA patrol had just reported a group of Corsairs by the Manchester gate in Cortez. Lucius sped off, eager to collect the money on their heads.
As fate would have it, these Corsairs turned out to be the same ones that murdered Lucius's parents 6 years ago. When Lucius arrived, he noticed that they were the same Corsairs. He told them who he was and said he'd offer no mercy to them.
A firefight then ensured, with Lucius easily killing the Corsairs one by one. When it came to the last one, he asked "Who are you? You have no right to do this!". Lucius replied with "I have had this right ever since you murdered my parents six years ago". And with that, the Corsair pilot's ship was destroyed and as Lucius had said; he'd offer no mercy. He destroyed the pod, killing the Corsair.
His parents had been avenged, but Lucius still felt he had a purpose left in Sirius. He took it upon himself to hunt down criminals and to protect the innocent. He changed his name to 'Lux', meaning light. As he would be the light of Sirius, destroying the evil where there is darkness in space.
Description
Lux Ryder is a hunter for the Bounty Hunters Guild elite. His personality is witty, sarcastic, charming and kind. However, that hides his inside persona of hatred towards evil across the Galaxy. it is even rumored he has two personalities, one of which sprung up once his parents died. He cares for the people around him and those he is chosen to protect. He is known to be merciless with criminals, only guided by his moral compass. Though, his perception of Justice is and can be exploited to be warped. Perhaps part of a mental instability after the death of his parents? He also has some sort of Sixth Sense.
He is currently displeased with the Guild he works for, as he believes that they could do a better job to destroy criminals around Sirius. He is also suspicious about the activities of the Bounty Hunters Guild Core. His DNA was taken by them for some sort of 'experiment'. He has a constant feeling of evil emanating from the Core, with it only being slightly watered down within the Guild.
He also sympathizes with the Order over the Core, though that is a secret kept away from the Guild.
