During the Gallic invasion of Bretonia, the original Jump Gate to Newcastle was rendered inoperable, leaving Bretonian operations within the system isolated. A stop gap measure was to redirect the Leeds gate in New London, however with that gate now being used again to connect Leeds, a new gate was needed for Newcastle. Ageira and Deep Space Engineering have been able to make progress on a new gate with remarkable speed, owing largely to their disassembly of infrastructure in Ontario in the face of the oncoming dark matter storm in Alberta. Rather than building an entirely new gate, the Newcastle Gate will essentially just be a case of reassembling an existing one in a new location.
