Perth Station was used by Planetform Inc. as a base to run the terraforming of the Planet Ayr. The station was abandoned when the Gallic Navy invaded Edinburgh, as the Bretonian Navy withdrew. Perth was renamed Orthez Station in mid 826 AS by the Société Astronomique Gauloise as part of the Roussillon victory celebrations, in which Edinburgh and Orkney and all charted objects within those systems were officially redesignated with Gallic names.

Now occupied by the Royal Enclave, the station had been pushed into the role of frontline supply depot and listening post, due to its strategic location near the Leeds jump hole. The station's systems are largely automated, and Orthez is maintained by a skeleton crew.
