Description

With the maturing of the trade-lane and jump-gate construction markets, Universal Shipping has diversified to become the premier shipping company for high-risk, high-value cargoes such as diamonds, MOX, gold, silver, light arms, and luxury goods- and covert government or corporate shipments. Because of this, Universal Shipping is always looking for Freelancers to supplement their security forces, but only those with the best reputations and ships that are up to the job. Their tendency to haul high-value shipments has made Universal a preferred target for pirates, particularly Lane Hackers and Outcasts.

Rumor has it that Universal secretly supports the Xenos, but that rumor has never been proven.

History

150 A.S. - A small shipping company is formed to make supply runs from New York to California. Its name is Universal Shipping.

173 A.S. - Universal Shipping takes a risk and buys massive amount of Silver from Colorado Fields and hauls it to Planet L.A. This gamble pays off as Planet L.A. needs large amounts of Silver to stimulate rainfall. Universal Shipping reaps massive profits from this operation.

178 A.S. - Universal becomes the largest shipping conglomerate in Liberty.

181 A.S. - Universal Shipping signs a contract with Ageira Technologies to handle the transportation of Jump Gate and Trade Lane Parts to DSE construction sites.
