Vladimir Law is currently a Sergeant in the Liberty Police Incorporated. He is currently assigned to Precint 112 of the New York Division and posted at One Police Plaza on Planet Manhattan. Vladimir Law is also a member of the elite Liberty Police Incorporated SWAT unit, whose tactical division is based on Police Plaza in the Liberty Police Incorporated home sector, Illinois.
Vladimir Law is a friendly, kind and compassionate person and enjoys the company of friends. He loves a good conversation and never will shy down from an intellectual discussion. His principles of Honour and Respect come from his family, whose culture and such inspires him everyday. These principles, primarily of Respect to all regardless of distinction, is what inspires him in his fight for Justice and Law in Liberty. It is rumoured that due to his personality he had a friendly encounter with a Nomad, however this is yet to be confirmed.
Vladimir's Ancestry: Origins of the Law Family
The Law family are the royal descendants of the House of Crnojević on Earth, but because of the need for a culturally accepted name, they changed the surname Crnojević to Law in -150 A.S.. The Law family on Earth lived in the Balkans on a large plot of land, living a relatively peaceful life as farmers in the peasant class. When the war erupted they had been originally neutral, but once they experienced the horrible nature of the Coalition, Josefina and Stevo Law decided to escape Earth. They had a wealthy friend in Italy at that time who worked for the Italian government. He was happy to hear that his friend in the Balkans wanted to escape from the war, so he organised places for Josefina and Stevo with his family upon the Hispania. Sadly the rest of the Law family decided to stay on Earth, where they all tragically perished. When the Hispania was damaged after the Coalition saboteur sabotaged the vessel, Josefina and Stevo Law escaped to Planet Malta.
After staying at the planet for a while to recuperate from the traumatic experiences in the escape from Sol, in 48 A.S. Josefina and Stevo decided to get to work to make a life for themselves. They found an Italian man who had a ship that he planned to fly to the Kingdom of Bretonia, and they organised with the pilot if they could fly them to Planet Cambridge, which they heard was indeed prospering - a wonderful way to make a new life in Sirius.
The Law family arrived on Planet Cambridge and they Josefina and Stevo Law purchased a large amount of land where they made food for the local populace, and for the citizens of the Kingdom of Bretonia. The Law Family here for centuries lived a relatively peaceful life, besides some hard times. In 795 A.S., many of the Law family decided to make a new life in Liberty after the Mollys were threatening the family on Planet Cambridge for their wealth.
That part of the Law family landed in their family company's vessel on Planet Manhattan in Liberty on the 15th June 795 A.S. The Law family immediately bought a large Villa on a beautiful river, the New Danube. Here Jo Law fell in love with Steve, who was a scientist on Manhattan who had the same culture and upbringing as Jo. They married and not long later on the 4th January 797 A.S. they had a son who they named "Vladimir", after one of the royalty within the House of Crnojević in days of old.
Vladimir's Early Life
Born on the 4th January 797 A.S., Vladimir Law was brought up in the family's Villa on the Danube. By the time he was 3 years of age, Vladimir could read and speak English as well as the language of his ancestor's. Vladimir was an intelligent child, always seeking more knowledge to have a greater understanding of the universe.
Vladimir loved the culture of his family and really enjoyed the story's of his family when he was young. They always had many feasts and had much contact with the Law family still on Planet Cambridge. Vladimir through his early life via this culture became a great cook, and was also a connoisseur of coffee, a rare item in Sirius that his family though grew on Planet Cambridge. When he was 5 years he entered Primary School, but quickly the educational authorities realise how intelligent he was and immediately sent him to Secondary School.
He excelled in every topic and every objective he set for himself, graduating secondary school and hence the last mandatory level of education in Liberty on the 21st December 805 A.S. Vladimir immediately went onto the University of Manhattan, where he studied a Bachelor of Laws/Bachelor of Arts where he studied the intricacies of Interstellar law, and the importance of culture and society in the universe. Many of the lecturers on the University of Manhattan were surprised with Vladimir's ability to understand the law, and incorporate those legal facets to society. He became the head of the United Houses of Sirius Club on Manhattan University, founding a student society that took root and can still be found there today, encouraging co-operation between the major houses and the stop to war between humans, which led to the destruction of Sol itself.
At the University of Manhattan he made many good friends. He studied with Lucy Starbright at this time who was also a magnificent and bright young lady. They became in a wonderful friendship and studied hard together the laws of Sirius and such, graduating together in 811 A.S..
Indeed Vladimir graduated from the University of Manhattan on 811 A.S. with the highest of distinctions, becoming the youngest graduate ever at the age of only 14 years old. Having the urge to give back to society and from seeing the horrible effects of crime on Liberty, he had decided it was time for him to do something about it. So, he joined the Manhattan Department of Public Prosecution, which was under the control of the Liberty Police Incorporated.
Vladimir Law spent time relaxing after all that hard study. He enjoyed this holiday by going on a paid holiday on an Orbital Spa and Cruise cruise on the Luxury Liner Hawaii. He went with Lucy on this trip and they enjoyed their time together, swimming in the pools, watching alot of films and having a great time.
Career in the Manhattan Department of Public Prosecution
After his holiday, Vladimir Law immediately joined the Manhattan DPP. He quickly became on of their most valuable barristers, always convicting a very convincing argument against all the criminal entities in Liberty. His action in the Supreme Court of Liberty on Manhattan was superb, always acting with respect but with efficiency. He quickly convicted lots of Liberty Rogues, Xeno Terrorists and other such entities that were operating in Liberty. However, many times he has requested the conviction to be taken back when he clearly saw the person was innocent. One such person was Ronald Smith, who was convicted of murdering a young girl on Manhattan, but when Vladimir investigated he found out that he was indeed setup.
Some of the most notorious criminals Vladimir Law has put away, including the infamous Liberty Rogue, Anthony "Laser" Broker, who was the head of the Liberty Rogues in New York. He was charged and arrested by the LPI after he killed 15 people in a shootout near a restaurant on Manhattan because one of them 'disrespected' him. Anthony is currently in Attica Supermax serving a 500 year sentence for countless murder convictions, pirating and other such crimes which he had committed during his criminal career.
During his career in the DPP, Vladimir Law also met Anna Brown and became friends with her after co-operating many times with her on prosecution cases against the criminal organisations in Liberty.
Vladimir Law finished his illustrious career with the Manhattan DPP on 816 A.S. because he wanted to explore Sirius as a whole and spread his wings. The Manhattan DPP celebrated his time there, as he had convicted in his 5 year Legal career in the DPP 5456 criminals, many of them notorious.
Life of a Trader
Vladimir Law from late 817 to January 818 A.S. left home and purchased a freighter and joined Deep Space Engineering to make money and to explore Sirius. He quickly found that the life of a trader didn't match his desire to achieve justice. In particular he saw many injustices and could not do anything about it and this made him frustrated, which led to him leaving the life of a trader. Because his family was fortunate he learnt that money wasn't something to live for, as one should have higher aspirations to assist the community, and other people. During his career he explored the Kingdom of Bretonia, Rheinland and Kusari space, however he became quite unsatisfied with the life of a trader, as he wanted to again fight for justice and Liberty. Vladimir Law became to cherish Liberty, as in his mind it was the best house out there.
One day he saw a large Liberty Police Incorporated recruiting poster in New York. He realised that there was hardly any police in Liberty, and that it needs to change: the weak and vulnerable must be protected, criminals must be prosecuted fairly and justice served, and most of all, Liberty should be the safest place to trade in Sirius.
Hence, on the 13th March 818 A.S., Vladimir Law applied for the Liberty Police Incorporated and sold his ship and equipped a LZF-9805 Liberty Light Fighter for his new career in the Liberty Police Incorporated.
LPI Career
On the 16th March 818 A.S., Vladimir Law became Recruit Officer. He quickly distinguished himself, enforcing the law around Liberty and making an active presence within the systems. He made alot of friends, and in the process some enemies. However, he enforced the law and did it well. He didn't mind being the only Officer on duty most of the time, as it was important for the LPI to have a presence. He loves his new career, serving justice directly via the laws, and the edge of the gun. His intellectual mind and his legal knowledge continues to serve him well, not to mention his friendly attitude, and respect for all beings regardless of origin.
On the 25th March 818 A.S., Vladimir Law was promoted to Officer rank. He then subsequently joined the elite LPI SWAT division, creating a Havoc Mk II - XB-2 Civilian Bomber. He has continued to duly enforce the law, and assist the LPI in every way he can, in recruiting, in the promotion of services, the upholding of Liberty Law, the co-operation of the Police with others, the creation of LPI infrastructure as well as many other tasks.
Vladimir Law was involved in a very large battle near Planet Manhattan on the 10th April 818 A.S. where he fought heroically for two and a half hours whilst outnumbered and outgunned by hostile criminals, which included Liberty Rogues, Lane Hackers, Junkers, Xenos and other misfits. He proudly served LPI to the last second of that battle in his patrol craft, regardless of the consequences that awaited him. Calling for backup from Liberty Fleets during this engagement was fruitless for the most part, which led to the destruction of his vessel. This injured him severely, and he was severely bleeding in the escape pod to Fort Bush for medical attention. The then turned their attention to the escape vessel to kill Vladimir once and for all. With his intelligent decision making and undying spirit, he took the oxygen masks and braced underneath the control panel when the vessel was ripped apart by a Liberty Rogue, named Rogue's Liberty.
When he entered Fort Bush medical bay, he knew he survived. Collapsing on its floor with a severe gash in his chest from shrapnel, and bleeding all over, the Medical Team at Fort Bush saved his life by stabilising him and tending to the wounds. It took seven long days for Vladimir Law to recover, as he slowly came back to strength. Afterwards he was as keen as ever to continue the fight to make a safe and prosperous Liberty for all, without the tyrannical and criminal entities for which destroyed his vessel.
After reaching the certain standard, Vladimir Law on the 11th April 818 A.S. was promoted to the rank of [b]Sergeant[/b]. He was proud to be able to become the Commanding Officer in engagements and on patrols, and to continue the fight for justice, peace and equality in Liberty.
Current Status
Officer Vladimir Law currently flies his patrol vessel, the Kingfisher - CTE-HF Civilian Heavy Fighter with a specialised weapon system approved by the Deputy Chiefs of the LPI. He goes into his role as SWAT Tactical Officer when there is a high-risk situation in Liberty. He has previously enjoyed flying in the LZF-9805 Liberty Light Fighter, in which he has done many patrols and which has performed remarkably in and out of battle. He is enjoying his time with the Liberty Police Incorporated alot, and he is continuing to uphold the law, promote justice and make sure Liberty is safe for all. Best of all, he is doing so with Respect to all people in Sirius.
