Grand Admiral Xander Aaron Ainsley Augustus Jacen Bastian Eadbhard Alexander Qayshon Dabney von Wolfeschlegelsteinhausenbergerdorf is the Spymaster for The Order and a member of the Order High Command. Formerly a Libertonian senator and member of the Order of Cincinnatus, he helped found The Order, serving as one of the highest placed agents to ever defect from a hostile organization and survive his defection.
Though currently serving in the Order High Command, he originally voiced complaints and even disobeyed orders issued by them, questioning their seemingly absolute authority. Whenever called in to account for his actions, he could always prove that he acted in the best interests of The Order, and that the orders given were harmful to the paramilitary organization. He also relied on the fact that as an original cell, he theoretically, under the rank structure, answered to no-one.
During his career in the Liberty Senate, he quickly rose to a leading role in his party for his verbose nature and irrefutable logic. His charismatic appeal in the party as well as the media gave him a sizable following in the House. At a time when the citizens of Liberty wanted a change in leadership, he stood up for the race. He was narrowly beaten by Barbara Jacobi, a point which still sours him to this day.
A few years after his defection to The Order, around 804 A.S., he stepped back into the shadows, observing The Order itself for infection, and even finding it in some cases, during this time. It would prove to be the catalyst for a major change in the paramilitary organization. As an Admiral who founded The Order, X held certain sway in the various political factions within The Order and using this he founded several splinter groups which would eventually form the TSF. He re-emerged half a decade later with an almost fully functioning spy network spread through the houses. As a few more years passed, this network began to crumble, as double agents were exposed, controllers captured and the general morale of the splinter groups hit a low point. He eventually re-structured the network into the Wedjat, an organization feared by The Order's enemies for the sheer information that they could collect and process.
Having served in The Order and in Liberty for some time, X is known by many titles and aliases including; Grand Admiral, Spymaster, Original Cell and The Senator, and his personal favourite, The Wolf. He also holds positional titles, which include Member of the Order High Command, Founder and Leader of the Wedjat and Spymaster of The Order.
Since actively joining The Order, X has changed dramatically in personality. His charismatic charm can inspire people, but opinions of him among his allies and enemies are heavily polarized. He is often regarded as one of the master tacticians in Sirius' history, able to pit his mind against the heads of several hostile organizations simultaneously and come out on top.
Biography
Early life
He was born on Planet Manhattan to prominent and wealthy parents who were instrumental in raising him, providing a solid education and eventually funding and allowing him to study a combined degree of Law and Political Studies at a top university. During his degree, in one of the most impulsive unplanned actions he would make in his life, he decided to run for Senator of his state. To his own surprise he won. This would serve as the prelude to him eventually founding The Order and coming to lead it.
Little is known about X's background as records of his existence were wiped by the infected Liberty government during his defection to The Order. The files that were found were basic, and only skimmed over his life history.
Political career
Made as a completely spontaneous decision during a heatwave, X decided to nominate himself as an independent candidate during the 793 AS Central Park State District election. With the support of his wealthy parents and relatives, as well as the influence of his university's alumni, he was well advertised and given an almost equal footing with other candidates. Due to most of the citizens in the electorate he was going to represent being tired of the corruption which dogged all the other candidates, he was chosen as a fresh face for civil change. He won the election by a 73% majority landslide. Soon after winning the election he joined one of the other political parties, although it is not clear which one, it is believed to have represented a conservative viewpoint.
During his time in office, he balanced serving his electorate with his university studies, which made him an idol of the perfect son for the older generations and a person in-touch with the younger generations, increasing his popularity. Combined with his charismatic nature and the logically, verbose nature he had, he made quite a splash on the political scene. This eventually led to him being incorporated into the Senate, as his party's representative conveniently retired on health grounds. It is speculated that around this time was when he was inducted into the Order of Cincinnatus and spent time serving Liberty in more opaque ways.
At the peak of his career, before founding The Order, he was nominated by his party as their Presidential candidate and party leader. Although he lost to Barbara Jacobi he still managed to retain a lot of his power base, and would have been politically able to lead his party into the next election. Unfortunately, the Nomad War occurred and his founding of The Order served as a defection of sorts, even though Liberty was infected. This effectively killed any future political aspirations for him in Liberty.
His half-deleted file in Liberty's archives lists him as being killed by The Order.
The Fall of Liberty
Being a pit-bull in the political arena and an agent of the Order of Cincinnatus he could slowly see Liberty and the Order of Cincinnatus falling to infection. He tried his best to counteract the fall, ordering the elimination of key infected figures and trying to preserve the integrity of both structures. He ultimately failed in this mission.
When he knew that the fall of Liberty was guaranteed and that the Order of Cincinnatus would crumble along with it, he developed what he called Contingency Plan: X. It was a plan designed to found the organization known as The Order today, and by doing so save humanity from complete elimination. He did not expect to survive to see his plan succeed. Surprisingly, it succeeded amazingly, with the formation of The Order, the redemption of Liberty from nomad control, the purge of Rheinland's infected and the preservation of the Kusari empire.
The rescue of the then President and former political adversary Barbara Jacobi as well as the stolen plans and technology, were other elements of success brought about by Contingency Plan: X and this groundwork would allow The Order to prosper in future years.
Career in The Order
Early years
X's early years in The Order saw him heavily praised and being a star of sorts. His dramatic escape from Liberty and entrance aboard what would be his Osiris added to the mysterious nature of the man known by the letter which represented an exceptionally large alias. During this time he started reading more about Sirius history and immersing himself in the knowledge provided by The Order's extensive data-banks.
To those around him he was rarely friendly or open, always appearing deep in thought.
Overwatch
The Overwatch was another plan developed by X that would facilitate a pre-cursor to the current-day Wedjat. Basing off his star status he used his popularity to recruit people into a splinter faction called the Udjat. Using people within The Orderto develop contacts in the general populace and other factions proved to an efficient if short-lived premise. The fault lied in there being no contingencies if people were caught and the ease of information flow between agents. Any agent caught knew of a few other agents in the field, which resulted in entire networks being collapsed easily. Combined with the drop in effectiveness of the AID, another splinter organisation headed by Admiral Mirage Bre'Delakorsa responsible for the liquidation of hostile threats, this led to the demise of the Udjat as X withdrew agents from the field to rebuild a more efficient information gathering group.
Order High Command
Following the ejection of {name withheld} from The Order High Command, X took over her position with a democratic vote taking place in one of The Order's first elections for it's leaders.
X won with a majority and joined four other members on the High Command.
The Staite Affair
Kaylee Staite and TCG.
Division unification
Admiral Mirage AID organisation and Udjat merged to form the Wedjat.
Wedjat
The combination of the AID and the Udjat, this organisation is responsible for monitoring The Order internally, general intelligence gathering and the liquidation of any and all threats to the organisation.
Personality
As X always covered his body there was no way for any non-verbal cues to leak out about his current state of mind. He kept his voice monotonic and avoided emotional words when he spoke. This led to the descriptions of X being devoid of emotion or cold, as he did not express emotion about comrades dying nor about The Order's victories.
However, in some diaries found during his disappearance it appears that he found it difficult to suppress his emotion when his comrades died and that his thoughts heavily revolved around protecting people as much as possible.
