When the unpleasant necessity of protecting the fledgling Rheinland Republic required the construction of a special prison for handling violent radicals, the Vierlande Prison was stationed in Hamburg in 715 A.S.. Its extreme isolation and lack of appreciable sunlight make it one of the more dreaded destinations for captured Red Hessians, Unioners, and other criminals. Conditions aboard the station are known to be dreadful - overcrowding, inmate infighting and "glitches" in the life support systems keep being mentioned in rumors, which the Rheinland government continues to deny. For security reasons, only the Rheinland Military and Federal Police may visit the internal prison sections. Sentences to Vierlande are almost always for life.
