Grand Vista Orbital was originally a Zoner installation constructed to serve as an intermediary trade platform in orbit of Planet Gran Canaria. When Bretonia annexed Omega-49 in 826 AS, this drew the hostile attention of the Coalition, later culminating in the destruction of the Battleship Stirling after the Gallic War. Seeing the threat posed by Coalition forces and their allies, the Bretonian Government requested the assistance of The Core to help fortify Exeter (previously Omega-49).
Since then, AP Manufacturing has retrofitted Grand Vista Orbital into a military installation, which The Core has now taken full administrative control over. The station’s previous population has largely either been replaced with Core and APM personnel or local Exeter hires sympathetic to the Core's ideals. The exact nature of the agreement between The Core and Bretonia is not known.
