When there is a need to gain the upper hand against large numbers of Fighters, Gunboats are called in to deliver devastating amount of damage to enemy fighters and absorb or avoid the return fire. Used wisely, Gunships are an invaluable asset to any fleet. The Tridente is often the largest Outcast ship seen away from their home systems, utilized by Outcast raiders and their closest allies.
Note: While the Tridente is an Outcast vessel, it was based upon the Border Worlds shipline, and therefore deserves a mention in this article. Refer to the Tech Chart for further information about how Freelancers and Mercenaries can acquire one of these ships.
