Besancon Freeport was built in 697 AGS as a Brigands stronghold in the desolate Franche-Comte system. The system was first discovered by Gallic explorers circa 650 AGS. However, only the Brigands deemed it suitable for colonization. Far away from Police and other Gallic lawfuls, Besancon is a port of call for traders and mercenaries coming from Dauphine, Burgundy, Lorraine and elsewhere.
