Bremen is a remote system with no Jump Gate connections or Trade Lanes, despite this the system is home to a sizable garrison of Rheinland Military ships who both attack and are attacked by the Liberty Navy in the neighbouring New Hampshire system.

At the time, Bremen was a desolate system without any governmental presence, and the outlaying base was used to help political dissidents escape prosecution from the Rheinland regime - a plan that came to an abrupt end following the Liberty invasion. Cloppenburg is currently used as a forward observational outpost and staging ground for Bundschuh operations in Bremen and Hamburg.
