Formerly a rearguard in Languedoc and then Orkney, the Montmorency Battlegroup is now the front of Royalist advance into Council held Roussillon. In late 741 AGS, the Gallic Royal Navy refitted the fleet at Issoudun, where the Council attempted to destroy the mobile drydock in a failed offensive. The retreating attack force committed several errors in protocol meant to ensure the secrecy of Roussillon, which enabled the Royal Navy to trace their origin to a previously unknown Jump Hole.

The flagship jumped its cohort into Roussillon and met pitched battle with the defenders at Le Boulou Outpost, eventually routing the Council Fleet to Perpignan Spaceport. When the remaining Council fleet fled, the battleship turned its guns on Le Boulou Outpost, destroying it before entering orbit around planet Foix in preparation for offensives deeper into the system.
