Solar Panels generate electricity from star light in order to provide power where fuel based electrical generation is impractical or needs to be supplemented. Electrical generation from Solar Panels leaves no residue and minimizes energy signature, making it ideal for any operation that desires to avoid detection. Nearly all remote space stations rely on Solar Panels at a minimum for backup power generation, and many criminal bases and some Zoner Freeports almost entirely depend on them due to the expense and procurement difficulties of nuclear fuels.
