Bering

The Bering system lies between Liberty and Rheinland and acts as the primary passage way between the two houses. The system is completely engulfed in the Tanner asteroid belt, which is the only major natural feature apart from the G2 type star it orbits. The only permanent inhabitance of Bering are the populace of Pirates aboard Freeport 2 and a large contingent of Unioner terrorists which are believed to have a base somewhere in the system. Despite being on the boarders of waring Liberty and Rheinland, the Bering is only lightly patrolled near the Jumpgates that give access to the two houses, leaving the much of the system in the hands of the various unlawful groups that frequent the area. Concerned about their interests in Freeport 11, both the Zoner Aquilon Carrier Tarrafal and the Liberty Rogues Destroyer Drunken Codger are at opposite ends of the system, monitoring the situation.

Tanner Asteroid Belt
The Tanner Belt entirely engulfs the Bering system. Despite intensive surveys by both Liberty and Rheinland mining corporations, no mineral deposits of economic value have ever been discovered within the barren rock asteroids of the vast field. Unioners and Xenos have been spotted within the system on a regular basis.
