Once Bering was just a transit system between Rheinland and Liberty. This changed with the Liberty Rheinland War, wher this system became the bloodiest war field. At war's end the Jump Gate to Hamburg was destoryed and Freeport 2 became home to more and more Pirates who finally taken the station. Later the Liberty Separatists were formed and created their new home - Marshall Station - next to the former Hamburg Jump Gate by part from old Warships from Rheinland and Liberty. In 827 the Liberty Navy - led by the Battleship Concord - cleaned the system from 'bad' influence.

Tanner Asteroid Belt

The Tanner Belt entirely engulfs the Bering system. Despite intensive surveys by both Liberty and Rheinland mining corporations, no mineral deposits of economic value have ever been discovered within the barren rock asteroids of the vast field. Unioners and Xenos have been spotted within the system on a regular basis.
