The Rheinland Civil War was a civil war that was fought between 827 A.S. and 828 A.S. in Rheinland, with the Imperialists putchists who seized power and most of Rheinland, and the Federalists, initially deposed from power by Imperialist forces in 827 A.S., effectively becoming a government-in-exile. The Rheinland Civil War is considered as one of the bloodiest conflict and involved many belligerent, however, it is also one of the shortest conflicts in the history of Sirius, lasting approximately a year.
Background
After months of apparent instability in the region of Rheinland, the Imperialists began a coup d'état against the Rheinland government, supported with large numbers from the Rheinland Military, forcing the Rheinland government - now renamed Federalists, to flee New Berlin. The Federalists, aided with the Marinenachrichtendienst (MND), and loyalist forces, notably the Koblenz fleet, which remained loyal to the Federation. After the successful coup, an unknown emperor has been sworn in.
An unusual decision by the Federal government has also been witness as the Bundschuh has been considered their allies in their fight against the Empire.
Conflict
Slowing down of the war and following armistice
The Rheinland population has been unusually and rapidly weary of this civil war, and this weariness resulted in mass unrest throughout Rheinland, both in Federal-controlled territories and Imperial-controlled territories.
The Armistice was signed by unknown parties, between the Imperialists and the Federalists in 828 A.S, effectively halting the civil war. The ratification of the armistice is unclear, the signatories are unclear and the reasons for it are vague at best.
The civil war is technically still considered as ongoing since no attempt at reuniting the governments have been made.
