M9 "Gladiator" Corsair Heavy Fighter

Template:Ship Infobox 2 Forgoing the armor and withering firepower of the massive Titan, the Gladiator was instead crafted to counter the flanking maneuvers employed by the agile yet relatively fragile Sabres by bringing the full skill of Corsair piloting to bear in this uniquely swift artillery platform. The blend of speed and strength showcased in this vessel is more than enough to sunder the hull of any coward Outcast and a testament to Corsair engineering prowess.

Review The Gladiator is a well rounded counterpart to the Titan. While not as heavily armored, and lacking two weapons and the turret of the Titan, this heavy fighter has some interesting advantages. For one, it is far more manuverable than the Titan, giving the enemies of the Corsairs a far faster, more manuverable target. Although it only has four weapons, they are all class ten, meaning that the loadout can only be limited by the powerplant and energy drain. [Editor's Note - not all class 10 anymore] Finally, this is one of the few fighters to possess two Torpedo/CD mounts. This makes for great pirating, as a train CD and a heavy weapon (Such as a Sunslayer or Mini Razor) can be mounted. Combine this with a Screamer EMP mine, and you'll find that the Gladiator can deal a surprising amount of damage to larger ships.
