Humboldt System

Humboldt is a relatively empty system that was pointlessly populated by a Liberty Rogue population some time ago. Its sole dead rock planet, Bora Bora, seems to be the only substantial thing within the system apart from the equally dead Manaus Asteroid Field. The Liberty Rogues established a base here as a remote hideout for those most wanted among their ranks. Fortaleza Base has no tactical advantage since it is so remote from any of the core systems of Liberty.

For a pilot to get back into civilization they must traverse the empty vistas of Kansas back to Magellan or risk the Junkers' temper by going through Puerto Rico to Texas.

Areas of Interest

Nebulae

Arcata Nebula

A relatively small field of dark matter in a remote area of the Humboldt system. While radiation is not strong in the field, sensors work very poorly, making the field a light navigational hazard. It's close proximity to one of the Humboldt stars discouraged most pilots from entering. No reliable charts of the nebula exist to this day, however it has been noted that the nebula has intense static discharges within the cloud.

Asteroid Fields

Manaus Asteroid Field

Manaus Asteroid Field does not contain any valuable mineral resources. One of the larger asteroids, however, proved quite useful for Liberty Rogues who established a new base in this remote place.

Careiro Asteroid Field

A large but remote asteroid field in the Humboldt system. Probes have detected silver deposits in the asteroids, but the exact quantity is of yet unknown.

Tefe Asteroid Field

A large but remote asteroid field in the Humboldt system. Probes have detected copper deposits in the asteroids, but the exact quantity is of yet unknown.
