One of the first of the new Conquérant class battleships, the Dax is heavily modified to accommodate the veritable amount of weapon and targeting systems that support the operations of planetary bombardment, representing a shift in design philosophy from the more conventional Richelieu class to specialized roles for Gallic warships.
Stationed in the orbit of Planet Harris since the early days of the invasion, the Dax saw little to no combat in the past years. Originally slated to support the Leeds invasion, the Gallic Royal Navy decided against this, in order to secure the already strained supply lines in the Taus.
