Review (4.86) The Rheinland Cruiser is of the heavy variety, hosting the highest armor count, a heavy core, a large amount of turret mounts and a rather large chassis. Handling is slightly sluggish compared to that of its Libertonian counterpart, however it is quite good for a vessel of its size. All turrets point forward and backward (though the two rear turrets have a slight split in arc facing directly down the middle of the ship, requiring a slightly less than 360 degree turn for any target on the other side of the bisected ship. This ship is best used as a long range support ship for long range bombardments, with a healthy mix of pulse, mortars, razors, and missiles. Outdated Review (4.86)

Review (4.86) This ship is a dream- once you get used to it. When you first jump in, it feels sluggish and slow. Because it is. But as you learn its quirks, you begin to realize its niche. And that is its adaptability. As Verlorenen suggested, it's a good long-range artillery shooter because of its armor and slim forward profile. But you can also use that armor to get in close as a downright brutal gunboat smasher. Turret steering gunboats often fly paths that you can follow and use your impressive Rheinland weaponry to tear them apart with. Against bombers, it fares moderately because of its good coverage. If you're taking too much fire, switch to turret steering mode and any approaching bomber will have to deal with your guns, which is a situation nobody wants to be in. The only thing you'll need to worry about is an LABC closing in for the kill. You cannot go toe-to-toe with them anymore, since they got a thruster. YOU can still thrust faster than THEM, so as soon as you see one moving in you need to high tail it out of range. I flew this ship for about a year, and got to the point where flying any other cruiser just felt wrong. This ship's a beauty, no doubt and with the right practice you can do whatever you want.
