Subject: Patrol Report #28, 23.12.817

Guten Tag Piloten,
I spent almost the whole day in space today, with early morning discounted. As usual, the Rheinwehr had a lot of issues to deal with, all were successful of course.
Beating off a smaller Liberty incursion
I began my patrol in the Hamburg system, intentionally with supervising the trade embargo. Everything was remarkably quiet until I spotted a Junker vessel moving goods to Liberty. Refusing to halt, the Pirate train took the lane to the Bering jump gate. I pursued the ship, but I have abandoned the lane as soon as I saw two additional hostile contacts approaching. The two enemy ships were clearly of Libertonian origin, registered as Bold-as-Brass an Avenger-class fighter and Sokol, a Guardian-class. The ships were most obviously scouts sent in by the Liberty Navy, they were not too talkative, taking into account that they never responded when I told them to get out of Hamburg. Instead, the two enemy vessels charged their guns and attacked me, I was forced to defend myself. Bold-as-Brass was a rather easy target, it bit one of my mines in about a minute after the first shots were fired, since his ship was already damaged, he blew into pieces. Sokol, the Guardian was a little bit tougher. He survived for about three-four minutes, he even managed to scratch my hull. Of course, he was soon a victim of a well-placed nuke aswell, not to ignore the fact that his ship was already damaged to a point of no repair when that happened. I landed my ship on Altona to do some repairs, it was finished rather quickly.

Embargo supervision
As soon as the Libertonians were taken out, I took up a position near Hamburg to supervise shipping and the embargo. I've arranged a team of specialists to be transferred to Altona in order to check the validity of incoming cargo and to neutralise any potential threat the incoming traffic would mean. Feldwebel Wenzel Kreuzchen and Albrecht von Schmitz joined me on my duties. I'm uploading a log of the passing ships I've scanned.

Registration code: Junker

Notes: The Junker vessel was rather disappointed when it had to face the embargo, especially since his shipment was heading to a neutral location. Since I couldn't supervise that and I was under strict orders not to let anyone pass torwards Liberty, I refused granting him passage. The vessel turned around, I lost track of it after its arrival to Alster. -Lt. Alec Voelkel

IFF transmitter alignment: Republican Shipping

Corsair cleanup in Omega-7
Since the Hamburg checkpoint went silent, I ordered the pilots present (Flieger Shubert Shetland and Albrecht Von Schmidtz) to begin a patrol of the Vaterland. First off, the pilots have checked Dresden since the Altenburg reported readings of several unknown ships, all seemed to be Daumann miners of different sorts. In the meantime, I patrolled Stuttgart, where a mining vessel, the Volterra reported sightings of Corsair ships looting miners around the system. We couldn't let that happen, of course. I ordered my wingmen to proceed to the assembly point located near Freiburg Station, from where we went immediately to Omega-7 to deal with the Corsair terrorists.
We met our targets near Freiburg. The unusually poorly equipped Corsair ships were nagging an IMG cruiser, the Vector supervising the integrity of the area. The terrorists backed off as soon as our fighter wing arrived, one of them even cloaked out. As usual, I didn't treat the Corsairs with my gloves on, I straight out told them to get back to their holes or they would be destroyed. They said they were considering my "offer", in the meantime I ran scans on their vessels. I identified the ships as Missilun and LOST-Rico_Rodriguez, the ship that cloaked out was Diablo Benitez. I also called Obergefreiter Otto Weddigen in to assist, since we were hinted about corsair reinforcements, even a gunboat incoming.
We had to act quick before the enemy heavy support arrived, I ordered Flieger Schubert and Herr Schmidtz to engage the enemy targets. Missilun, a Titan-class fighter was shot down quickly, despite the fact that the ship was relatively well-armored, it was out of regeneration tools. Shortly before the vessel's destruction, the corsairs have pulled in an Imperator, designated as KARLEONE to provide support. It engaged us and we were forced to retaliate, I ordered Obergefreiter Weddigen too to open fire. The gunboat managed to bring some damage to Flieger Shetland's ship, who managed to evade long enough for us to take the Imperator down. Rico Rodriguez was left alone, I ordered Shetland to pull out because of the damage he suffered while Weddigen and Schmidtz handled the last Titan.
As soon as the area was clear, I asked the captain of the Vector, the IMG cruiser that was present to give us landing permission on Freistadt in order to conduct repairs of our vessels. I was not particularly damaged, but I had to give command to Feldwebel Kreuzchen, who arrived on spot at the end of the fight.
