Dr. Van Pelt was a scientist who worked alone on Benford Research Station in the later part of the 700s AS, studying gravitational anomalies in The Badlands. He was an old friend of Jun'ko Zane and welcomed Trent and Juni to hide in his station while they were on the run from the Liberty Navy, but they were found and Van Pelt died on the station providing covering fire for their escape.
