"The Geheimdienst secures Rheinland. We are everywhere to ensure Rheinland's Security."
~ Horst Stieglitz
Herr Direktor Horst Cristoph Stieglitz, intelligence officer since 825 A.S, was part of the BDM High Command. Horst was a Seuchenschutz officer and, as leading force of the Kommissariat, keeps Rheinland clean from Nomad plagues. He commanded the Kommissariats Streitkräfte in the heart of Rheinland and at its Borders. Stieglitz still works closely together with the Marinekommando at the borders of Rheinland. Since the start of the civil war and his transfer to another division in the MND, the Kaiserlicher Geheimdienst, he lost contact to most of the BDM agents.
Background
Horst Stieglitz was born to a Marinenachrichtendienst Agent and a Bundestagsabgeordnete. He grew up in a wealthy city on Neu Berlin. He got the best education Rheinland had to offer these days. Stieglitz used his time after school to brew Stieglitzer Bier which was a quite good source of income. Horst was drawn into the Wehrdienst as every man of Rheinland when the Nomad War was about to break out. They went to the Trainingsakademie on Battleship Strausberg until the government declared war and every Kadett was ordered to the Front. He and his friends were stationed near the Westfront in Omega-7, were two of his Friends deserted and flew to the Norfolk as they got to know what was slowly going on in the Rheinland. The Aliens formely known as nomads infested half of the Rheinwehr and took over the control. Stieglitz saw some of his Kameraden behaving strange. He kept cool but distanced from these Soldaten. Close to the end of the war, they were drawn to the Ostfront in Sigma-13, where Horst proved his skills and loyalty to the Vaterland. Stieglitz was Feldwebel when the war was over. He came back to the Heart of Rheinland just to see the devastation of the left behinds of the Nomad disaster. Horst couldn’t believe his eyes and swore to never let such similar happen again. Shortly after the events he was secretly brought to Schatten by BDM agents who operated with the information, Horst would be infected too. They scanned his body several times but they couldn’t detect anything unusual. Horst then was questioned by the Büro Direktor Volker Koch and Horst’s father Karsten Stieglitz if there was anything happening in his garrison at the Bretonian front. Horst provided any useful information in detail and after some days he was released and flew back to Neu Berlin. Horst was still frustrated about the bad events and still was interested in the origin of the whole tragedy happened to his Vaterland; the Nomads and their Xeno Technology. Horst began to study this Technology at the newly opened Universität für Alienforschung, aswell as he did a course for medical treatment for Nomad infested people. In the winter of 825 A.S. Stieglitz was contacted by the Büro as they were looking for new people with knowledge about Nomads due to the recent events at the Fulda Border Station in Frankfurt. Horst quickly accepted the offer and joined the ranks of the Büro.
In his time with the Büro, Horst trained basic BDM combat skills and flew on some diplomatic missions to the borders of Rheinland. Horst used his knowledge from the Rheinwehr and was quickly rewarded for his engagement in the Büro. Soon after the beginning of the Rheinland-Kusari war, Horst joined the Kommissariat and was promoted to Kommissar of the mid-command. There, he worked hard keeping Rheinland clean from Nomads and as he was informed, that some Rheinwehr Soldaten behave strange, his anger on the Nomads increased once again. He began to run investigations on this topic, while many other Agents were at the Front near Kusari. As the time passes by, Stieglitz increases his tactical knowledge. He has more freedom in using Agents for the Kommissariat, but also gets more paperwork from his superiors in the Oberkommando. After another bunch of months in Service, but more because of recent actions in the Omicron Delta System and München System, Horst Stieglitz was promoted to Hauptkommissar by the Direktor. At the moment he worries about the strange behavior of some Rheinwehrsoldaten and he is about to help the Marinekommando with unusual civilian ships spotted by the Rheinwehr. After the successful launch of the Projekt "SCHATTENBRECHER" and some other major steps in BDM's policy, Horst was promoted to Kommissaroberrat by the Direktor. Horst is from there on part of the Oberkommando. He cares about a "Donau" Class Cruiser currently sightened in Liberty that kills other vessels on sight.
Recently, in the late summer months of 827 A.S, Stieglitz and his Flottilla were transfered to another division in the MND. Due to his political view, he left the federal-minded BDM. After the civil war, the Kaiser and jia Reichskanzler ordered Horst alongside Katharina Dietrich to form an imperial secret service with an alliance to the Kaiserliche Rheinwehr. Horst, who inherited command on the RWK Tannenberg, took this as an honor and becomed the youngest Direktor since the founding of Rheinland Intelligence.
Trivia
