The Mammoth is a Transport built in Liberty for dangerous and lengthy trading missions through the Independent Systems and the Border Worlds. When pirate activity is on the rise, reinforced hull and advanced power array come in most handy for traders; the Mammoth offers both for a moderate price.
Handling
- This ship is too large to use docking bays, it must use mooring points.

this is an excellent ship, I personally see it as the best, cheap freighter for long trade runs or hauling ores. there are 5 turret hardpoints, each capable of supporting a class 7 turret, four facing forward , 2 to each flank, and one on the rear belly, pointing backwards. if being chased, all five can fire backwards on pursuing rogues. the huge cargo space of 2200 is easily enough to make time effective profits on long hauls across the galaxy, and the beefy shield and armour ensures that the only bandits getting at your cargo, are the ones with battleships, and they don't come often. the only possible downside is the sluggish manoeuvrability, which means that the shield will have to do its job, dodging enemy fire from any angle is almost impossible. however, combined with high quality weapons, this beast will keep on going through any sort of ambush and get you to your destination for some much deserved profit. this ship is definitely worth its 10 million credit price tag. The EL-HiL51 "Mammoth" is a good transport for a budding merchant, small faction, or anyone who just wants an affordable ship to move cargo from point A to point B. The ship itself has a nice weapons layout and overall design, but the deciding factor is honestly the price. Typically, the CT-49X "Gull" is most people's first transport after saving up the roughly 6,500,000 credits for it. The Mammoth would be the next logical step up from that. The Mammoth has exactly the same amount of turrets, identical power core, 1,200 more cargo units (just over double), 100 more nanobots and shield batteries, and only costs roughly 5,000,000 credits more than the Gull. It has acceptable maneuverability, but it certainly can't outrun or out fly a fighter or bomber.
