Vaelin posture when in the Order was often rigid and alert. As time has developed over the years and familiarity made itself apparent, his demeanor developed into what it is today. Corporeally he would exhibit a regard of calmness and one who is comfortable within their own skin, although at times he depicts a foreshadowing scowl when in deep thought. His physical form is mostly unscarred with only a few signs of wounds long healed in the past, merely faint lines across the skin from its usual pigmentation, these are typically marks of previously being interrogated although he’s taken medical steps to try removing such markings. He does process a tan and a small degree of freckles about his shoulders. The coloring of his eyes are a rather unsettling shade of amber, the unsettling quality is more to the vibrancy of the color as well as the thin black ring around the rim of the iris; the sense of one might gain from the ‘look’ was that his eyes were old souled. Typically his aura would be someone not so imposing as to what his reputation might be, preferring instead to be viewed as a normal person, seeking to be untainted by the coloring of his past.

Vaelin has demonstrated a wide range of characteristic traits. In the spectrum of traits he demonstrates a few would be more constant. Often utilizing sarcasm or a razor-sharp wit when communicating with those he views in a monotonous manner. When dealing with those that he views with discontent he would demonstrate a dismissive or judgmental nature depending on the context, which would often cause attempts at communication to become lackluster. Those that he would resent would often find a more volatile. In normal circumstances he would display the characteristics of being benevolent and a Philanthropist; although not self-serving this state is frequently only extended to those that hold his sympathies or those that he can relate to emphatically. Observed to act on events in relation to his feelings, it’s concluded that he is prone to bias opinion and action; although past circumstances do not hold as much weight as present ones. It is observed he seeks to live by his own moral beliefs and often desires to be above reproach; however it’s been observed that in times of discord and perceived necessity that he will disregard such notions with great reluctance.
It was at first believed he was an extroverted based person, often seen bonding with the crew typically those that were less stern in demeanor. It was observed however by many of the crew that he would have periods of time where he would isolate himself at times which were often inconsolable leading to the conclusion that he is in fact introverted in nature. When troubles would arise on the ship he would be the one to seek to harmonize it, those that had complaints he would personally listen to and although this may seem foolish; he took measures to ensure his safety in such events. The 'darker' side of Vaelin has only manifested in times of desperation or distress, typically in violation to his own morals, despite being against torture, should a circumstance arise where its perceived to be mandatory. In contrast the utilization of such measures were always committed when working towards philanthropy and when lacking self-serving motives.
[History]
With an ambiguous beginning, his notoriety flourished within the Black Squadron having been someone who stayed out of the spot light until he succeeded Jonathan Isa as the Leader of the Anubis taskforce. His nature in being a quick learner gained him apprise as well as a reputation of being adept in battle despite his youth. He quickly rose in rank to that of Commodore within the Black squadron. He served in this position for a number of years, never advancing into the ranks of admiralship which was in part to his age.
He requested and was sent to Gallia to initiate diplomatic relations with the council. It was in this that he would gain allies himself. When nearing the secluded end of the mission, he made a declaration in his intentions to leave the order which included his retaining command of the Anubis. It was believed that he was to set up a splinter cell of the Order within Gallia’s boarders, this did not come to fruition. During the time of the Anubis in Gallia it was modified to run with minimal crew although that soon changed to being almost completely automated with androids as the ‘blood’ of the ship.
This circumstance however would not last as he was inducted into the phantoms against his own volition. His demeanor had changed to a more sinister one, it was rumored that this group of terrorists had acquired something that was compulsory to his survival. It is unknown of how the circumstances changed but his desertion from their ranks were noted as the disappearance of Nephilim from the sightings of the nomads.
When Vaelin resurfaced it was in a rather volatile way. The Phantom Osiris, Hellbound made an appearance in Dublin where a second Osiris appeared, it was believed that both were under the thrall of the Phantoms however the new arrival opened fire on the Phantom vessel. The Anubis came away from that battle worse for ware, The Phantoms had utilized Ion weaponry which interfered to greatly with the ships systems to amount an effective offensive or defensive in which the Anubis was resulted into retreat. Although the event had allowed Bretonian Armed forces to establish a defense force in time due to the phantoms unexpected delay.
Information was later collected on the location of Vaelin as an alias of Dirus Taine within the Bretonian Armed Forces, it was later learned that the higher-ups of the military were aware of his past organization but allowed atonement in part to Martin Bridge’s consent to his admission to the BAF. This circumstance did not last long however as Fleet Admiral Ralston succeeded Martin Bridge in which the regime changed. It was in this that he was charged with insubordination concerning his refusal to engage a ship that was incapable of defending itself, although it was later revealed to be an AI. He was court marshaled and was relinquished into a detention cell where he received a flogging. Although it might have been to try install obedience, it caused the opposite effect and became one of the reasons he resigned although not the main, it was due to Ralston’s actions concerning the death of a BAF pilot which the cause of death was flogging.
Once again he bore the name Nephilim but this time it was under the flag of the Reapers of Sirius, a group dedicated to trying to cause Corsairs and Outcasts to mend their rifts and end their wars. Although at the time of his ascension to their ranks, the faction became inactive. It was shortly after this that Vaelin disappeared completely.
