Yaren was established in 802 A.S. as a meeting point for the Corsairs and members of the Order, during the time in which they were allied. The Order obtained supplies and Artifacts from the Corsairs in exchange for supplies and technology - eventually even leading to the Corsairs obtaining the schematics for the Osiris-class Battleship.
As the Corsair/Order alliance fell apart however, Yaren lost its purpose. With no traffic to raid and no Artifacts to collect in Omicron Delta, the base was largely abandoned. The Corsairs trade with Freeport 11, but often simply bypass Yaren and head directly for their home system. Many of the Zoners suspect the Corsairs will abandon Yaren in the near future, to focus their efforts elsewhere.
