The Spatial is often employed by mining faction, to explore asteroid fields deep inside the borderworlds. While being as large as some freighters, the Spatial sacrifices cargo space in favor of additional equipment options. Dual mine launchers and the ability to power a single Bomber-class torpedo make this craft formidable, yet it's sluggish maneuverability and large size often leave it very vulnerable in combat.

The Spatial is capable of sustained flight beyond a system's heliosphere to an adjacent system, posessing the cold sleep and life support systems to maintain up to five persons for years of sustained travel. The craft is equipped with multiple long burn Ageira engines, any of which are capable of powering the craft independantly.

This ship can be retrofitted with special mining equipment, to glean an additional yield from mineral deposits in space.

Handling

  • This ship is too large to use docking bays, it must use mooring points.

Review (4.88.1)

The Spatial is an incredible and amazing ship. It is not the best mining ship, not even close. It doesn't have the same mining speed as Arrastra or the Surveyor and it also doesn't have Hegemon's Cargo hold, however the Spatial is still a great choice if you wish to mine with its turrets while still making any pirate think twice before coming anywhere near you.

Although the Spatial is a very unpreciated fighter, it is an incredible choice once you manage to learn how to work with it. With an incredible Hull size of 29,600 already just by itself bigger then that of any Heavy Bomber, freighter or Fighter with its Cargo size of 180 units you can mount it with a Heavy Armor Upgrade Mk IV making it reach 88,800 hull turning it into something more resistant then some smaller gunships. Despite its stunning hull size there is more to this ship, as a Super Heavy Fighter the Spatial can mount Freighter shields, this way it can have more then double the shield of a Very Heavy Fighter.

Besides its hull and shield the Spatial also packs quite a punch. With a power output of about 39,000 and its abillity to carry a Bomber Torpedo such as the Nova Torpedo Launcher, the Spatial can easly fight against Gunboats or Cruisers and win. Against fighters the Spatial can rain death to them with 2 class 8 guns , 2 class 9 guns (CODENAMES), 2 Class 10 guns that can also be filled with missiles such as the Firestalker or the Sidewinder and 3 turrets of which only 2 can fire forward and 2 mine dispensers for a deadly Nuclear Mine and Screamer Mine combination.

However there is a big reason why soo many people dislike the Spatial and it is soo hard to use, although considered a Super Heavy Fighter the Spatial's size is somewhere between that of a Heavy Bomber and a Gunship with an agility of an average bomber, making it a huge target.

With all this said the Spatial is a great ship but very hard to use because of the fatal flaw that is its size, but put a Spatial in the right hands and with the right setup and it is possibly one of the worst things you can fight against being able to take on anything from Fighters to Capital Ships while looking stylish when mining.
