The interior has an impressive and 800 Cargo hold capacity seems to have been squeezed into every inch of this thing. But all this power comes at a price. Potential maneuverability is severely sacrificed with all that added armor and weaponry; bringing it's turning speed to that of an Albatross. A huge flaw is that when hit by a cruise disruptor renders the ship useless if you've got some power thirsty weaponry; leaving you pretty hopeless against anything that mounts a cruise disruptor and a powerful punch. {{Review|[[User:Pepe|Pepe]]|I would always put my first milions to buy Armored Transport. This ship is fun and good investment as well! It is not fast or powerful, but it is well balanced, cheap and safe. What to do with it:
 +
 +
Mine and survive to buy better ship (if you don't die of monotony).
 +
Find wrecked equipment and survive to make use of it.
 +
Find trade-lines and survive to come back later with bigger transport.
 +
Hunt well payed bounties and missions and survive to collect ($600.000 or even more).
 +
And most fun & profitable: Explore edges of Sirius and kill everyone who attacks you. Sell captive pilots on best places for it (nomads are jolly good prey, even gunboats, not always easy to kill, but always easy to sell well in Cambridge).

It works fine even with class-5 turrets and much better with any transport turrets, of course (but than it looks so clumsy!). Ship is not so fast, even for a transport, so you will probably switch to turret view oftenly, than shoot and run (but not to fast, and you'll win). Use two Class-10 slots for your favorite missiles, or pulse cannons for a Gun-Boat hunting (yes, yes. Somehow I killed 6 of it, after a long fight, but I was to scare to try something bigger latter...). Be careful when choosing shields: powerdrain of any nice Advanced Transport shields will block your whole powerplant after first shots received!}}

The Pelican and its predecessors have served the police forces and travel services of Sirius for centuries, safely ferrying prisoners and tourists to their destination and capable of turning would-be raiders into an impressive fireworks display. Modern Pelicans are built in a wide variety of configurations ranging from prisoner transports and raw material haulers to exploration vessels and luxury yachts. They have recently seen a surge in popularity among freelancers thanks to the specialized Cormorant variant, which allows for a smaller crew and heavier armor than the typical commercial versions.
