| description = The Omicron-94 system, located beyond the Edge Nebula, is a tertiary star system at the very edge of the Sirius sector. A quiet and relatively safe region of the Corsair Empire, the system was discovered in 756 A.S. by explorers dispatched by Don Quixote of the Benitez Family.
+
| description = Tau-115 or 'Roussillon' is a recently occupied system by the Gallic liberalist group The Council. After suffering a crushing defeat in Languedoc to the Gallic Royal Navy, they soon lost one of their most tactically advantagous positions in Gallic space; Planet Quillan. With the horde of King Charles XI navy between the remains of the council's southern fleet and their safe haven in Champagne, they were forced to retreat to Montpellier Guard Station and without reinforcements were soon forced to retreat out of Gallic space to Orkney. The poorly defended station Reunion was soon to fall in line and The Council's southern fleet was left exiled and wandering throughout the Tau-systems, attempting to rally the dispersed and lost to the remains of the capital fleet.

Containing a number of planets and a number of unique stellar formations, the system was extensively explored during the tenure of Don Quixote, with the exception of the Aegian Nebulae, during the exploration of which, the famous explorer disappeared.
+
With Languedoc lost and the path to Gallia resealed, The Council's southern fleet turned to their allies made during their occupation of the passage. The Independent Miners Guild was soon to step up and offer a place for The Council fleet to make birth at a recently charted planet they had found way to in recent years. The jump hole to the new system had only recently opened and offered a perfect location for the lost faction to recouperate and rethink a strategy to tackle the Gallic threat. The Council fleet flocked to the new world, naming it Planet Tolouse after a place long lost to their culture a thousand years ago.

Since 786 A.S. the system has been gradually developed, with bases positioned in the system to benefit from it's relative security.
+
The crippled gallic fleet has since recovered from their losses, and Roussillon now stands as a fortress homeworld of the presumed lost southern fleet. The Council have learnt from mistakes made and now look to change the tactics of their approach. Adapting the template of their tactics in Champagne of concentrated control; they have taken their time to build numerous stations, form valuable alliances, deploy various militaristic measures and more. The hope of The Council's southern fleet now is to improve local relations and gather as much support to punch through the royalist lines in Orkney and push their assualt back to the core worlds before they execute their plans for invasion.

Omicron-94 is part of a loop of systems only accessible from hidden jump holes in the Omicron Gamma system. Over recent years, security measures have been increased in response to reports of potential threats beyond the frontier of Corsair space.

Aside from the Corsairs and their current and former allies and business associates, the only organisation with any detailed knowledge of Omicron-94 are the Bounty Hunters Guild who discovered the system at some point in the late 8th century A.S. but before the Corsairs had begun developing the system. As a result, they have a rough understanding of the natural layout of the system and it's neighbours, not taking into account stellar drift, but no intel on the Corsair installations now established in the system, as further infiltration has been prevented by the potent defence forces posted at system's entrance.

: Planet Mykonos is one of the most visible and significant features of the Omicron-94 system. A gas giant, Mykonos has an atmosphere made up almost entirely of oxygen, hydrogen and noble gasses. Unprocessed, gas collected from this planet is toxic due to its high oxygen concentration wreaking havoc on a subject's lungs, but after processing can be used in the artificial atmosphere of space stations and ships. A technique called "Gas scooping" originally developed by the GMG (and stolen) allows Corsair ships to harvest oxygen and hydrogen from the planet, pressurize it, and offload the gasses on nearby bases to supplement their artificial atmospheres. Waste products of maintaining the atmospheres of stations in the system (such as Carbon Dioxide) are released back into Mykonos' atmosphere to ensure a net atom economy is maintained.
+
: The planet that was later named Toulouse was discovered by an Independent Miners Guild exploration expedition in 814 A.S. The planet was codenamed T115-C1 and immediately attracted the attention of Guild officials. The planet had gravitation and temperature suitable for human colonization. The presence of poisonous gases in the atmosphere was a deterrent, but the problem could be fixed by introducing oxygen-producing plants and setting up atmospheric filters planetside.
 +

 +
: 814 A.S. was also the year when the war between Kusari and Bretonia started. Having to invest all its resources to secure its holdings in the Tau systems, the Guild did not have enough manpower and ships to perform further research. The situation changed in 817 A.S. when the Council, a powerful and resourceful faction from Gallia, reached for IMG help in finding a new home for their Languedoc population. Having no way to reach their brethren in other Gallic systems, the Council Refugees had to establish their new home in some desolate region of Sirius to save the population from imminent repressions, and secure and rebuild its remaining forces.
 +

 +
: Toulouse, located in a system that the IMG labeled Tau-115 (renamed Roussillon by the Council), was the best choice to become the new home for that part of the Council that was isolated from their brethren. Council manpower and money, along with IMG knowledge and technology, combined to make the planet suitable for settlement in a matter of months. The location of the system, as well as the planet itself, was not revealed to any other groups by IMG, and the Council was secured from Gallic attacks at least for a year or two - time enough to build powerful defenses that the Royal Navy would not be able to penetrate without suffering severe losses. Apart from purely material gain (Council had to pay a very large amount for IMG services), IMG also retained the right to settle their own colonists on the planet at a later time. Since the relations between the two factions are friendly at this point, it is possible that Toulouse could become a prosperous independent world with population of both Gallic and Sirius origin.
 +

 +
: Currently, Toulouse houses a population of 180,000, consisting of Council Refugees from Languedoc, a large amount of non-aligned Quillan Refugees who did not want to stay under Gallic Crown rule, as well as representatives of other unlawful factions of Gallia. IMG sustains a large terraforming and scientific presence on the planet, their work being supplied and financed by the Council. The atmosphere is not currently suitable for human breathing, and breathing masks are a necessity outdoors. However, the ongoing efforts to clear the atmosphere from HCN and COCl2 are making progress, and in some parts of the planet humans are now safe to stay outdoors without a mask for up to three hours.

: The Amorgos satellite is locked into a slow orbit of the greater Mykonos Gas Giant, but rotates rapidly on its own axis. With a thin Oxygen-argon atmosphere with pockets of dinitrogen monoxide, the air on Amorgos is barely breathable for short periods. Any prospect of colonization was dismissed after the revelation that the moon had little to no natural resources. With severe dust storms throughout the moon's cycle, the closest Amorgos has come to colonization has been a few brief survey missions. Due to dinitrogen monoxide concentration in the atmosphere, many members of these missions returned suffering hallucinations. Claims of alien ruins made are more commonly dismissed as a result of the hallucinogenic effects of the atmosphere. In 803 AS the Council of Elders on Crete formally forbade further survey missions to take place on the moon.
+
: Le Soler is a relatively large barren moon of Planet Toulouse. It only has traces of atmosphere, and its surface is covered with numerous asteroid craters.

: The second largest planet in the system, Santorini is a dark and very dense world with a toxic atmosphere. High concentrations of Sulphur Dioxide and Chlorine in the atmosphere make the air of the planet totally un-breathable. Added to this, convection currents caused by the strong solar radiation falling on the planet lead to large dust clouds primarily composed of carbon particulates that can not only clog lungs but also machinery. With no out-right economic value, Santorini's main significance is it's unique asteroid belt, held in place due to the gravitational pull of the planet's dense core. This belt houses the relatively newly established Thira Colony.

: The Andros Field was the first area of Omicron-94 to be discovered by the Corsairs. Extensive surveys confirmed presence of trace iron oxide and aluminium oxide deposits, but not in concentration high enough for extraction to be viable. Currently, Corsair pilots use the Andros Field predominantly for inner-field combat training exercises. Recently, the Andros Field has become particularly important in deterring infiltration of the system by heavy enemy craft.
+
: When the Council, Brigand and Maquis forces first arrived in Roussillon, this asteroid field was the first obstacle they encountered. Frozen pockets of oxygen were quickly marked a navigational hazard. However, as the construction of several space stations and settlement of Toulouse began, that same field became a valuable local source of oxygen, which was scarce in the system due to the toxicity of Toulouse's atmosphere.

: An outcropping of the Edge Nebula, the North Aegean Nebula is largely uncharted. Recon missions by the Corsairs have been largely unsuccessful due to radiation emanating from within the nebula, and navigational hazards caused by the electromagnetic interference within the cloud. Many survey ships dispatched into the nebula have not returned, and out of those that have, at least two have reported encountering hostile entities. Since this report, the Battleship Delos was dispatched to patrol the edge of the nebula, and continued reconnaissance into the nebula was suspended.

: Originally deployed in 804 AS, the Delos was among the first Osiris class battleships constructed for the Corsairs. Due for decommission in 814 AS after the Corsairs developed superior battleship designs of their own, the Delos was re-deployed at the last minute when survey teams reported contact with unidentified hostile ships in Omicron-94. Since 814 AS, the Battleship Delos has been deployed at the border of charted space in Omicron-94, patrolling the frontier to ensure the safety of the outposts located in the system.
+
: Perpignan Freeport was built in 818 A.S. as a framework for a future trading outpost in the Roussillon system. Currently, since not much trade actually takes place along the war-torn Tau systems, it serves as a supply station and a defensive outpost with long-range energy weapons that can be used to secure the system from possible intruders. The freeport is located in the very edge of the Ariege Barrier Nebula, a massive cloud of water ice crystals and inert gases.

: Pamiers is one of the few battleships of the Council that survived the Languedoc campaign. It was captured in Burgundy back in 726 AGS while it was patrolling Nievre asteroid field. In a daring move, multiple fighters and bombers of the Council surrounded the ship and disabled most of its point defense systems. Marines boarded the ship, and with the help of certain loyal officers of the Navy, overtook the ship in less than an hour. The ship was later hidden in Nievre, out of reach of Gallic capital ships. It was transferred to Dauphine, where it stayed in far outer reaches of the system outside the range of Gallic radars, leading a group of several smaller capital ships. Later, the battlegroup of Pamiers participated in the Languedoc offensive. The battleship was one of the few that did not suffer serious damage in numerous battles with the Navy. The Council chose to attempt to move it through the mine field passage, despite the risks.
 +

 +
: Being one of the three battleships that went all the way to Roussillon, Pamiers is the flagship of the Council defensive forces for the system. The battleship is currently stationed not far from the Tau-29 jump hole surrounded by an extensive mine field. This jump hole is considered to be the likely point from where Gallic forces could enter the system, and fighter patrols from Pamiers are constantly keeping watch on the jump hole from both Roussillon and Tau-29 sides.

: Deep within the Andros Field, Tinos Outpost was established shortly after the system's discovery by the Corsairs in 786 A.S. Originally intended to act as the watchtower at the furthermost frontier of the Corsair Empire, Tinos Outpost's purpose was adjusted with the construction of Syros and the deployment of the Battleship Delos to Omicron-94, with the Station acting as a relay station for communications between the isolated system and Corsair command on Planet Crete. After discovery of possible hostile forces in the Aegean Nebulae, an experimental satellite monitoring system was put in place, with sensor satellites deployed across the system to give warning of any incursion. With telemetry relayed back from these satellites to Tinos Outpost, the station is able to distribute intelligence from the satellites to all other bases and allied vessels in the system, with whereabouts and tactical data about the perceived threat.
+
: The larger part of Gallic Brigands who came from Languedoc with the Council fleet are staying on Toulouse, but some chose to secure their own outpost at the very beginning. Within a large ice asteroid field of Ariege, they found a convenient large asteroid that orbits Planet Prades. Docking ports and hallways were built inside the asteroid by Brigand workers and IMG engineers that were hired to help with base construction. Currently, the station is capable of housing more than two thousand people, and the number is expected to increase in the future.
 +

 +
: The Council currently prohibits any ships that originate from Gallia to exit Roussillon in order to minimize security risks. The only exception is made for Council's own light fighter patrols sent on reconnaissance missions outside of the system. Therefore, the Brigands were not yet able to dispatch patrols into nearby systems to determine the trade routes they could feed on, returning to their old occupation - piracy. As soon as the restriction is lifted, Brigands are expected to start raiding nearby systems, seeking easy profit. While the Council is not looking forward to this development, since it may well mean spoiling the relations with their new allies, they have no choice but to tolerate the Brigands' presence in the system, for they provided invaluable help during the entire Languedoc operation, and form a sizeable number of Roussillon's newly arrived population.

: Syros was a project undertaken by the Corsair nation in 802 AS, overseen by one of Crete's powerful military families. Originally intended to act primarily as the base of operations for forces in the area, the station was later expanded to include a dry dock. Since the creation of the dry-dock, Syros has been known dubbed a "Shipyard" and has acted as a servicing and repair facility for Osiris, and now Legate class battleships. After the Delos' deployment to Omicron-94, Syros Shipyard was expanded to include a secondary dry-dock, the construction of which is still underway and is estimated to reach completion over the next 12 months. Despite its size and facilities, constructions of new vessels rarely take place at Syros due to the difficulty of transporting raw materials to the region.
+
: The Maquis who arrived in Roussillon chose to create a base of their own, separate from the Council. They found a medium-sized ice asteroid within the Tarn Barrier Nebula that was chosen to be a good spot for the new base. Located on the opposing side of the system relative to Montauban Base, the Maquis could enjoy as much privacy as they wished to in their new living space. Caussade currently houses about 2 thousand Maquis settlers, but more are expected to arrive from Toulouse as soon as construction works are completed.

: Within the asteroid belt of Santorini, in orbit of the planet, Thira Colony was established in 810 AS. With precious little raw materials in the system, the planetoid chosen was almost entirely impermeable and thus perfect for a "dig in" outpost. With the increased frequency of attacks on Omicron Gamma and other Corsair establishments in the Edge by their enemies, the Elders of Crete felt it necessary to lay provisions for a tactical retreat to a defensible location if such drastic action was ever called for. Thira was the centerpiece of this plan, which was designed to help house the populous of Crete, out of harms way if the time ever came when Crete was no longer defendable. By current projections, the Thira project has only utilized ten percent of the planetoid's volume so far, and thus has huge potential to be expanded if necessary. Operating at a sustainable five percent capacity, Thira Colony currently only houses around 200 people, but is largely self sufficient. Occasional gas-scoops from nearby planets provide the station with Oxygen and water to sustain it's current populous, and enough food can be produced in experimental hydroponics centers within the planetoid to feed the minimal crew that currently reside there. Renowned as the "quietest place in the Corsair Empire", Thira is intended to act as the last place of refuge if Gamma is ever overthrown. Management of the "Colony" is currently the responsibility of one of the military families of Crete.

: Dihydrogen monoxide (H2O) is odorless, tasteless, transparent, and absolutely essential to human life. Roughly 75% of the human body is composed of Water. Deprived of Water, most humans can only live three days. The process of dehydration is a painful one, as tissues shrivel and vessels shrink in a desperate bid by the dying body to preserve its remaining vital functions.

Tau-115 or 'Roussillon' is a recently occupied system by the Gallic liberalist group The Council.

Planet Toulouse

Planet Toulouse
The planet that was later named Toulouse was discovered by an Independent Miners Guild exploration expedition in 814 A.S.
814 A.S. was also the year when the war between Kusari and Bretonia started.
Toulouse, located in a system that the IMG labeled Tau-115 (renamed Roussillon by the Council), was the best choice to become the new home for that part of the Council that was isolated from their brethren.
Currently, Toulouse houses a population of 180,000, consisting of Council Refugees from Languedoc, a large amount of non-aligned Quillan Refugees who did not want to stay under Gallic Crown rule, as well as representatives of other unlawful factions of Gallia.

Ariege Barrier Nebula

Please upload an image of this field.
Ariege Barrier Nebula is an outcrop of an immense interstellar structure known as the Barrier. Roussillon system itself is a clearing within the Barrier, with its sun located between two huge clouds, Ariege and Tarn. Ariege is mainly comprised of inert gases and microscopic ice crystals. In several locations around the cloud, larger ice asteroid clouds were formed. Three of them located not far from the Roussillon sun were charted to date.

Agout Asteroid Field

Please upload an image of this field.
When the Council, Brigand and Maquis forces first arrived in Roussillon, this asteroid field was the first obstacle they encountered. Frozen pockets of oxygen were quickly marked a navigational hazard. However, as the construction of several space stations and settlement of Toulouse began, that same field became a valuable local source of oxygen, which was scarce in the system due to the toxicity of Toulouse's atmosphere.

Space Stations

Perpignan Freeport

Please upload an image of this station.
Perpignan Freeport was built in 818 A.S. as a framework for a future trading outpost in the Roussillon system.

Le Boulou Outpost

Le Boulou Outpost
Le Boulou Outpost is still under construction. This defensive installation was designed to prevent the intruders coming from the nearby Newcastle jump hole from reaching the inner regions of Roussillon. The construction is a joint effort of the IMG and the Council, with IMG responsible for habitat areas of the station, and Council providing reinforced armor construction, turrets and other weaponry. A small mine field was constructed nearby that will be expanded at a later date.

Battleship Pamiers

Battleship Pamiers
Pamiers is one of the few battleships of the Council that survived the Languedoc campaign.
Being one of the three battleships that went all the way to Roussillon, Pamiers is the flagship of the Council defensive forces for the system.

Montauban Base

Montauban Base
The larger part of Gallic Brigands who came from Languedoc with the Council fleet are staying on Toulouse, but some chose to secure their own outpost at the very beginning.
The Council currently prohibits any ships that originate from Gallia to exit Roussillon in order to minimize security risks.

Caussade Depot

Caussade Depot
The Maquis who arrived in Roussillon chose to create a base of their own, separate from the Council.

Water
Dihydrogen monoxide (H2O) is odorless, tasteless, transparent, and absolutely essential to human life. Roughly 75% of the human body is composed of Water. Deprived of Water, most humans can only live three days. The process of dehydration is a painful one, as tissues shrivel and vessels shrink in a desperate bid by the dying body to preserve its remaining vital functions.

Oxygen
A typical human being consumes over 12,000 liters of Oxygen (O2) daily. Oxygen, usually mixed with a neutral gas such as nitrogen, is absorbed through the tissues of the lungs and then diffused into the bloodstream, where it is carried throughout the body. All humans require a constant supply of Oxygen or they will perish within minutes.
