Ame-no-Uzume (named after the Shinto goddess of merriment and happiness after being rescued by Renzu employees, her real name is unknown), also known affectionately as 'Ame-chan', is a Kusari citizen of dubious origin, and a spokesperson and sales rep for Renzu shipwrights, and (apparently) a citizen-soldier in the Kusari Naval Forces.
Origin & History
Nothing is known about Ame-chan's origins, age, origional name, parents, or anything prior to her first appearing in the ranks of the Golden Chrysanthemums. The first confirmed sightings came early in 817 A.S. of a GC flagged Anki freighter spouting inane babble promoting women's rights...
...in Omega-54.
After being chased out by the Red Hessians, and later shot down by the Coalition, Ame was found by chance by a passing Renzu trader, badly injured and suffering from severe Cardamine withdraw. Rushed back to Planet Honshu for medical treatment, Ame was cared for by some of the best medical personnel in Kusari. Her Prognosis was initially bad, but Ame miraculously healed, and eventually recovered. During her recovery, she was placed under an experimental procedure to repair her DNA from the cardamine abuse, which was mostly successful. However, because of brain tissue damage caused by vacuum exposure or cardamine withdraw, Ame suffered severe amnesia, and dementia.
She was soon hired by Renzu CEO, Ayane Matsamura, who gave Ame her current nickname based on her (at the time) cheerful personality. Once Ame was released from the hospital, she was offered a Job with Renzu as a sales representative and given an Anki freighter. Over time, Ame gradually became more aggressive and crazy, however this helped her sales career significantly. The 'Crazy Cabbage Lady' selling millions of credits worth of Renzu hardware. Several local Farmers Alliance pilots antagonized Ame (possibly following some directive set by Samura), which likely turned her more and more aggressive.
During one bout of trading in New Tokyo, she rescued a Kusari State Police pilot named Izeki Akimasa from Blood Dragon attackers. 'Izeki-cabbage' and Ame soon became fast friends and affectionate toward one another, with the latter enjoying the occasional fear and disdain instilled in the other by her actions. Izeki and Ame eventually became roomates (on weekends only), and have been on several dates.
Shortly thereafter, Ame was greeted by Emperor Jien Kogen himself, and quickly awestruck. Ame having a childish admiration and an admitted crush on "Emperor-san" despite her relationship with Izeki (this may however, be her own attempts to become "AmeEmpress" for personal reasons). Ame often encounters Emperor-san, and flaunts any attention or gifts given to her by him (often to the ridicule most of those she meets, who do not believe her).
Ame's arch nemesis is KNF officer Hajime Hirohito, who's ire was gained after Ame was implicated in allowing several GC pilots to escape (infact, Ame was attempting to con said GC into doing her bidding). This lead to a confrontation in which Hirohito promised to oust Ame from her apartment on Roppongi and have her exiled from Kusari. Ame was not pleased, and was defiant, citing the fact that "Emperor-san likes me more then you! BLARHG!" Since then, the long-standing feud between the two has simmered on.
More recently, in the absence of Ayane Matsamura, Ame unwittingly sold her shares of Renzu corperation stock (Approximately 90% of the company, the paper slips of which she had folded into Origami cranes) to Interspace Neuralnet Division president Otis Jethrow (A.k.a. Crusty-san), in return for efficient money to allow her to purchase a Kusari Destroyer. The Imperial ministry, not wishing to garner Ame's wrath, quickly agreed to allow her one (sans a crew), which Ame dubbed her 'Yacht', thus making her about as Dangerous as Mon'Star. Since then, Ame has been continually abducting new 'AmeSlaves' to attempt to run her Destroyer.
Other notable achievements include her single-handed near destruction of the Battleship Ishiyamadera, invasion of Dublin, and capture of a Consortium escape pod (one of the first to be recovered intact, later destroyed by the AFA. As well, Ame continues to act as Saleswoman for Renzu Corporation, as well as, incedently,Kusari Shop Kunigami ('Noodle Box' in AmeParlance).
Personality
Due to brain damage caused by Cardamine withdraw, Ame is both childlike and demented. She is prone to rapid mood swings based on external stimuli. Toward outsiders and those who have earned her ire or challenge her self-implied superiority in any way, or those she perceives as 'Cabbage', she is usually stand-offish, territorial, possessive, and generally possess a surly demeanor (unless said individuals possess a Renzu ship, or something else of value). Ame is also considered manipulative and will feign ignorance or faux innocence when it proves expedient, citing her intelligence despite her deranged mental state.
Usually however, Ame isn't overtly violent unless provoked, except toward Bretonians, whom Ame will often mercilessly attack, and who she has been reported to cannibalize. Ame also shows aggression toward Kusari Unlawfuls such as the Blood Dragons, Consortium, and 'Golden Cabbages'. The latter of which, Ame often likes to capture for use as 'AmeSlaves', usually maids or to crew her 'Yacht'.
Fortunately, Ame is easily bribed with money or 'Shiny things' or other objects of value. As well, there are a few people whom can be considered the closest appropriation to 'friends'. Chief among these are Emperor-san, Izeki-Cabbage, Noodle Box, the Itchy People, and a number of Hogosha. Most Kusari Corperate, Military, and Police pilots are considered Friendly (unless they provoke Ame).
Ame often speaks in a broken Kusarian accent, due to damage to the linguistics center of her brain, and perception. Some phrases may be shortened or disjoined, or spoken in a simplistic manner (which can, to the untrained listener, be misidentified as Lawl's Syndrome. Another hallmark is Ame's referance to most people, places, and things, as 'Cabbage', or attaching the word 'cabbage' to stress her disdain for whatever she is referring to. This may have been picked up by the Temporary Autonomous Zoners.
Ame will also add strange syllables, guttural barks, or growls into sentences to place word emphasis or as exclamations (though some are expected to have attached meaning).
